How To: Necro'lic, the Visage

xCO2
January 18, 2013

INTRODUCTION

______________________________________________________________________________________________
A terrifying spirit created by uniting a thousand of souls of the warriors fell in the War of the Magi; Visage roams this world with never-ending thirst for souls. This restless ghost consumes the essence of the enemies he slays, and the death moan of his victims is what he enjoys the most. The weakening power of his wrath puts even the greatest warriors in misery, and the sight of sky filled with Visage and his undead minions is unimaginable. He is a nightmare in its worst, most sickening form, a true living horror, the Necro'lic.
______________________________________________________________________________________________

Necro'lic is adept in producing a pile of hero corpses. He is a somewhat flexible hero, in that he can vary widely in item stack. Visage is a hero that is meant to create great ganks and revel in team fights. If the minimap is absent of Visage, you had better hope he was slain, because he's coming for you!

ROLE and POSITION

ROLE:

Visage: GANKER

Necro'lic, the Visage has always been an underrated and underplayed hero; though major revisions to his kit have been made, he still remains a quite hero among high ranking and competitive game play. Regardless of his popularity, Necro'lic remains a great GANKER and an adequate SUPPORT late game. Visage may produce a huge pool of damage, but he is not the CARRY; he may also have extreme survivability at times, but Visage is not a TANK. Necro'lic's key point to winning is to make sure the enemy has the worst possible early game.

POSITION:

Assuming you bought your starting equipment as suggested and are wondering what to do now, you might want to consider your lane or jungle position; for the purpose of this guide you will head to a DUO lane. You may become active in a TRI lane for early blood, you are an early game hero, take advantage of the fact. Necro'lic is most compatible in the SAFE lane because he needs the extra early experience, and has great survivability. You will want a good support who can pull creeps for you. You should never SOLO as Visage, you can not hold your own enough to win MID.

BOTTLE and RUNES

Bottle: A bottle should be PICKED UP if you plan on roaming a lot; in which you should try to have full control of runes as you should with any gank hero holding a bottle.

Illusion: You do not benefit much from this rune, this should only be PICKED UP in special cases.

Double Damage: This should be picked up EARLY and MID game, and avoided LATE game.

Invisibility: Generally not needed, but for a sure gank you may PICK UP.

Regeneration: SITUATIONAL, for the most part you will pick this up if no one needs it anymore than you do.

Haste: You're not exactly the fastest hero, and you lack a proper escape mechanism, PICK UP.

EARLY GAME

(A) GANKING ORIENTATED:

Lvl 1: Farm accordingly, and stay somewhat close to the tower.

Lvl 2: Use your Q only to secure first blood or escape.

Lvl 3: Save casting your W until next level, continue to farm.

Lvl 4: If you haven't already, try to secure a kill using your Q and W in conjunction.

Lvl 5: Start roaming, gather runes, ward appropriately, and gank without stealing the kills.

Lvl 6: You should be full ganker now, Use your R frequently, DO NOT let the familiars die!

(B) GANKING ORIENTATED:

TEAM FIGHTING

FRIENDS and FOES

Commit to the undead, or cut your losses?

To be a successful bat you will be heavily relying on your teammates, a good line-up is your everything. You need heroes that are TRUE SUPPORT, you may be a late game int hero but you can't be relied on to commit to supporting. You also rely on a good CARRY with a good CC to net the kills; you're not supposed to be gaining mass kills, just creating them.

PLEASE READ

These guides are somewhat time consuming to produce, and most of them do lack some at the moment, but for the most part I believe they provide enough information to play properly with the given hero. Even though the guide is still UNFINISHED, I still need feedback on how to better it. The item build and such is always up for change, and your opinion is wanted as long as it's not something that smashes the entire guide because you don't like a little detail. Please keep in mind: if you have the time to read this guide and vote on it then you should have a sufficient amount of time to comment what pleased or displeased you.

TLDR:
Please take the time to provide feedback.
What can I change? What areas need improvement? Is the guide visually unappealing?
