How To: Elder Titan, the Worldsmith

xCO2
May 4, 2013

INTRODUCTION

Since ancient times it has been prophesized by the Tauren elders that a Chieftain will come, strong as the mightiest warriors and wise as the eldest shamans. After many years of wandering the sacred lands, seeking wisdom from his forefathers, Cairne Bloodhoof has proven himself as the long awaited hero. Cairne carries with him the spirit of his mightiest ancestor, and now the ground shakes with the combined strength of the Chieftain and his guardian spirit. No physical nor magical barrier can reduce the power of his enchanted halberd, the weapon used by his guardian in ancient times. Such is the power of this axe that it can split the very earth itself. Seeking revenge for the ravaging of his homeland, Cairne will soon bring his wrath upon the Scourge (Dire).

Elder Titan is a hero who brings presence to team fights. He can fill a variety of roles, but his talent lies in initiating and team fighting. The Worldsmith revels in teaming up with heavy hitters and crowd controllers. His flexible playstyle and independance of items makes him a fearsome opponent that is hard to put down.

ROLE and POSITION

ROLE:

Elder Titan: INITIATOR.

The Elder Titan has strong physical damage as well as a strong spell arsenal. This strong balance of auto attack and spell damage can occasionally allow him to take the role of SEMI-CARRY. He can disrupt multiple heroes simultaneously with his spells allowing him to be a strong INITIATOR. Most of the Titan's abilities synergize around his guardian spirit and using his spells, making the Worldsmith an adequate and durable CASTER. Being someone who is so independent of farm the Worldsmith can also be a SUPPORT. Though he is durable he is not a TANK, and being a hard hitter he's not a CARRY. Overall Elder Titan excels in terms of damage and disruption, and is very flexible in build and playstyle. With that being said, he's a fearsome foe.

POSITION:

Assuming you bought your starting equipment as suggested and are wondering what to do now, you might want to consider your lane or jungle position; for the purpose of this guide you will head to a DUO or TRI lane. You should never SOLO as Elder Titan, you can not hold your own enough to win MID against a true solo mid hero.

BOTTLE and RUNES

Bottle: NO

Illusion: DO NOT PICK UP, unless there is no one nearby with a bottle.

Double Damage: Do not pick this up EARLY or LATE game, this is a great pick up for you in the MID game.

Invisibility: This is your rune, PICK IT UP , and use it to catch someone off guard.

Regeneration: SITUATIONAL, for the most part you will pick this up if no one needs it anymore than you do.

Haste: Good PICK UP on Elder Titan, allows for you to get into position.

FRIENDS and FOES

To mend the his broken soul, the Worldsmith needs the appropriate tools.

Elder Titan essentially synergizes with any massive AoE TEAMFIGHTER to set him up to do some hurting by setting him up to release his ultimate. Disablers that have a SILENCE or CC are also great teammates.

PLEASE READ

These guides are somewhat time consuming to produce, and most of them do lack some at the moment, but for the most part I believe they provide enough information to play properly with the given hero. Even though the guide is still UNFINISHED, I still need feedback on how to better it. The item build and such is always up for change, and your opinion is wanted as long as it's not something that smashes the entire guide because you don't like a little detail. Please keep in mind: if you have the time to read this guide and vote on it then you should have a sufficient amount of time to comment what pleased or displeased you.

TLDR:
Please take the time to provide feedback.
What can I change? What areas need improvement? Is the guide visually unappealing?
