Death Prophet Guide to Eating Towers

Introduction

Hi this is my first guide in Dota 2. Most of the characters I play are support although here I would like to share my pushing/tanky build for Krobelus, the Death Prophet. This build has been used in pub games a number of times and I have found it quite reliable. I am not the best Dota player and this build is mainly for pushing so if you don't agree with it please don't just dislike it because my name sucks or whatever, please read it first. Constructive critisism would help on how I can improve my guide. Thank you and enjoy. :)

Pros / Cons

Pros:
- Can be built in many different ways
- High damage nuke
- Big Aoe damage
- Big Aoe silence at max level

Cons:

- Mana hungry early if you spam often
- Soft early game
- No stuns, or slows

Reasoning: I may be repeating myself for the third time (don't worry there will be a lot more) but again this is a pusher tank build. This build aims for high sustain, hard to kill, team supporting push power. This build gets carrion swarm at level one to keep lane enemies afraid making them move around (it also prevents them from making last hits). Getting an early level on Silence and Witchcraft are 2 skills which can keep you safe from ganks, while Witchcraft gives you movement speed and decreases the mana cost of your spells and giving your Exorcism an extra kick later this makes your early game a little more "comfortable" :)

Summary

As I stated earlier this is a pusher type Death Prophet by building her as a high sustain hero, but also very effective in team fights. The power of her push depends much on her fist skill locust swarm which can be used to harass your lane and pushing creeps, and utilizing Exorcism for towers and team fights. KEEP IN MIND THAT A Town Portal Scroll AND MAP AWARENESS IS NECESSARY IN PUSHING!

Skill Build

My skill build mainly relays on increasing the damage on locust swarm for better pushing power and Witchcraft for lower cooldowns on locust swarm, more spirits on Exorcism, and the bonus movement speed. I only get one level of Silence for running away or in team fights.

Starting items

My starting items are meant for a tanky early game and along lane presence. If your team has a courier And you are having problems with mana you can have the courier give some clarity potions on the way and not just your early game items. (The mana problems will be fixed after you have finished your Arcane Boots and Perseverance). Also never forget to harass and deny because you are a ranged hero (it's eAsier for you to last hit).

Early Game

From here you can start spamming locust swarm in the lane, but always conserve mana for at least an Exorcism, a Silence, and a [[Town Portal scroll] because 1. Without exorcism you destroy your tower pusing tool and major team fight damage 2. You lose escaping tools which will help you escape from ganks.

When you push hard enough to reach the tower with your creeps activate Exorcism and watch your spirits help you devour that tower.

Mid game

Here you have the option of either going with Bloodstone, Vanguard, and Hood of Defiance. All 3 items are very situational. Bloodstone is if you know that you will be the one taking the kills which will allow you to increase in stacks, but if you wont might as well get Vanguard because the damage reduction is invaluable. Also Hood of Defiance is against heavy magic damage. Shiva's Guard is a very good item on Krobelus because it increases your survivability, intelligence and pushing power. Always grab Shivas after whichever tank Items you decide to get. P.S if you are having mana regen problems becuase you decided not to get Bloodstone, buy a Void Stone instead which later can become a Scythe of Vyse. Also turning 1 of your bracers into a Drum of Endurance can help your team more. :)

P.S. If you are unsure with either making Bloodstone or Vanguard just buy a Vitality Booster and depending on the situation make a decision later.

Late game

Here you should always stick with your team because with your Arcane Boots, Mekansm, Shiva's guard aura, Drum of Endurance aura, Exorcism, Silence, and locust swarm you are a great team player with heavy damage and good sustainablity. If you win team fights pushing with your team will be a breeze. Your Arcane Boots can be upgraded into a Boots of Travel as you will probably no longer have any mana problems late game. Also you can turn your Hood of Defiance into a Pipe of Insight later on to give your team a more magic resistant edge.

Conclusion

If I am missing anything please tell me what I can add. I hope this build will be effective for those who wish to try it and please don't just dislike it please comment why and tell me what I acn do to improve my guide. Than you for reading this far into my guide :)
