What the hell are you talking about???

disclaimer: ehem, i dont know if what i will be talking about has already been discovered, and if it has, please inform me and i shall take it down immediately.

Hello, my name is GreenPeaAdvanced and I'd like to talk about the Iron Branch. This item, often residing in the default suggested early item builds tab of damn near every hero, costs 50 gold, offering a stat boost of +1 to your strength, agility, and intelligence. It is the unsung hero of the early game, the item you wish you had bought when that Sniper escaped with 1hp, and is basically the best when looking for effective and cheap stats. It can even be upgraded into a Magic Wand.

As of patch 6.86, however, the Iron Branch has received an update. Icefrog has given us a way to dispose the branches in a way that does not involve reselling it for 25 gold or dropping it on the ground and stomping it into the dirt. You can now plant it on the ground to receive 'a happy little tree'. How lovely is this feature, really, adds a certain positivity that was previously absent in the harsh battlefields of dota 2.

We all knew that you idiot, what's this guide for anyway???

Right, now what if i told you that you could use the Iron Branch in another way? I'm sure you're bored by now with my unnecessarily drawn out ramblings, so let me just tell you.

See that cliff over there, the one where you can freely hit the neighboring ancient creeps and neutral camp without being bothered? You know, the one that afk nature prophet hits away while he watches turtle porn on his steam overlay?

You can climb that with the Iron Branch.

How do I do that??

Now, before I discuss smaller details, we might want to find out how to do such a thing in the first place.

I don't really know how this is possible, or if it was planned, but i think we are going somewhere along the lines of the collisions between the trees planted and the face of the radiant cliff deciding to throw you up the cliff instead of out the trees that make this possible. (a more professional dotatologist might help me find a better term for how this happens.)

Also note that you can only do this on the radiant side, and that you would have to have a minimal of 4 Iron Branch as your starting item, although sometimes 5 branches are needed.

Anyway, what you want to do is stand on roughly this area, clicking that bit of the rock on the cliff that kind of sticks out, making sure that you are colliding on the cliff's face.

After that, plant three trees in a circle around yourself, effectively trapping you from going out. Make sure that you leave a little bit of space to move around by making a tiny tiny gap in the path that you are blocking. Be warned that if the gap is too big, you might be thrown out of the cluster of trees in the next step instead of on top of the cliff.

The last thing that you would need to do now, is to plant a final tree (sometimes two trees if your gap is quite large) somewhere in the small area where you are in amidst the cluster of trees, and you should be thrown up the cliff.
This part is always the trickiest,as sometimes you may fail to even find a place to plant the final tree and other times you will be thrown out of the trees instead of up the cliff, and I cant seem to consistently plant in a way that allows me to always be able to climb up the cliff properly.

Here is a bonus screenshot of a failed climb when your gap is too big.

If you want to consistently pull this off, I recommend going into a lobby and trying this method over and over again until you pull it off, then continue to practice doing it until you can consistently do the climb.

Little Details

This boost can be very useful to ranged carries, and might revolutionize afk lvl 1 farming forever. Note that only heroes with range of about 600 or more can use this boost and freely farm. Medusa can use this to gain quite an easy stream of early game farm with her split shot while other ranged carries, however slower, can also switch to this technique as an alternative to laning as a source of early game farm.

Another thing that should be noted is that outcomes of the tree climb is also affected by the character model of your hero. I have not done this climb enough times to say for sure that this is true but i have found it much easier to boost Luna (who actually cant farm from the cliff D:) and Medusa then it is with Drow Ranger or Sniper.

If anyone wants to talk further about the tree climb and or its uses, please do so in the comments. I also apologize if my writing style has hurt your eyes, or if i made any grammatical or spelling mistakes above.

Have a good day.
