helm of the dominator is good not only for the lifesteal but it also gives you the option of a possible satanic lategame...drums however is a very good early to mid game item so if u make drums its always better to rush it

I still don't think Shadow Blade is needed when you get a Drum of Endurance, but the rest of the build is good. I would suggest putting Phase Boots even in the HotD one, though.

Just a quick tip: the competitive scene has changed, now Yasha is not recommended anymore. Competitive players usually go for either the Helm of the Dominator build without Yasha or for a very quick (which means straight after Phase and Basilius) Shadow Blade to extend into Monkey King Bar and eventually Satanic and Butterfly. Manta Style is rarely picked, only against persistent debuffs or abilities like Sprout and Power Cogs.

I still think you put a lot of effort into this and I'm not planning on removing my +1 on the guide, I'm just giving you suggestions to keep this build up to date. :D

*Updated*
Added Shadowblade and HotD to core, moved manta to situational

I agree with you and I have noticed this switch as well, I just forgot to update this guide

At mid I like putting a point into flak cannon first. Pushing the lane isnt a problem(in fact you usually want to), it provides cheap early harass, and then when u cast your homing missile u can push them out of lane a bit so dmg/stun are higher. I go 3-2-1-1-1.

Nice guide you have there!
I just wanted to mention that you probably want to add Magnus and Ogre to friends list. Their buffs (Empower and Bloodlust) add damage to Gyro which makes him more dangerous in mid-game while he still didn't get his main damage items (Gyro with Empower can kill creep waves pretty easily with Phase Boots and Dominator only), so mainly Gyro's friends are all heroes who can buff up his damage, and additionally these guys' stuns are real help for Gyro. Just imagine combining Magnus' ultimate with Gyro's :D

Pros: Can outcarry Phantom Lancer if played correctly

you mean we have found a cure for cancer?

It is very possible to out carry PL. Gyro is a hero that gets much more active a lot faster than PL and that means he gets kills on top of farm gold. He'll get his items up faster and allow you to win early, or get those big items before the PL. As I'm typing this NTH just beat Empire with a satanic, bkb, butterfly, and mkb (with a rapier added at the very end just to make the final push easier). Like bastardodentro said, flak cannon allows you to kill all the supports quickly, and forces PL to fight alone.

Saw that match too, but you're talking about a Gyrocopter with a big gold and level advantage: with the same amount of farm, excluding Divine Rapiers and the Aegis of the Immortal Phantom Lancer would have had a higher chance to win. Nonetheless, I think this Hero can really face any kind of carries and works well both in trilanes with Rocket Barrage and in teamfights thanks to Flak Cannon. For this reason he's probably the most picked carry aside from the boring Lifestealer, at the moment. :D
