Maelstrom Juggy

So there's been tons of Juggernaut picks at TI6 and boy do they love their battlefury. Infact, BF has been the got to farming item (IMO) ever since the nerf to Mask of Madness occurred in days long since past. SO why not spice things up and get a Maelstrom?

Sadly, Hamster's not here to give input but that just means the rest of you can give an opinion on this item choice!

Maelstrom would be a decent farm item too, but Battle Fury seems more reliable in terms of farm speed compared to Maelstrom.

There's also the minor factor of omnislash cleaving.

But yeah, I can see Maelstrom being a legit pickup too.

Why get Mael on Jugg when you can pay 1.5x more gold to get like 5x better item?

Because with Maelstrom you can also fight.

No you can't. At least no more than with BF.

If you want to fight as juggernaut, there's a different build you can go. (something along the lines of Drums SnY Deso Basher)

The thing with Maelstrom is that it's neither here nor there, it's not truly fighting and it's not truly farming.

Well, Fed, I'll try to not be dismissive of suggestion, so I'm gonna try to respond to your points.

When it comes to AOE damage on Jugg, Battle Fury is preferred. There's a few reasons for this.

Melee heroes with built in crits (Jugg, PA, CK to a lesser extent) are well fit for Bfury because they can easy get cleaved crits, and the stat provided is 65 damage over 24 so he can get big crits. So, why is Wraith King despite being a melee crit-hero one that prefers Maelstrom? Well, he's lacking in attack speed, that's the main reason, and a lack of mobility to farm even with the battle fury, so with Maelstrom (through honestly Radiance is better), WK can attack one dude on one side of the teamfight and it'll hit the other. Juggernaut doesn't have this issue. Plus, Jugger can get scaling cleaves and crits during his omnislashes, rather than static damage from maelstrom procs.

So basically, Bfury farms better and is more synergistic with the skillset. For fighting, Jugger is better suited for agility items, like Diffusal Blade and Yasha (the magic of the AGI attribute).

Maelstorm i would say is the Battlefury for ranged heroes

it could only work in jug in a Aghs Scepter build, but good luck waiting Ice frog to buff it XD
