Not many might know it but Rf Online universe.
I get to play a dwarf wearing futuristic armors and rides a huge robot.

It's also a 3 way battle between 3 races. robots, dwarves and elves.

there are just so many to choose from i personally can not decide whether i like the Warhammer 40K universe, Fallout, Mass Effect and lets not forget Middle Earth

Definitely Warcraft, specifically pre-WoW. Halo was my first console game I ever played on Xbox Live, actually Warcraft was my first ever online game followed by Halo, and I've played every game except for Halo 2 and Halo: Wars. So Halo is probably my number two, quickly followed by the Armored Core universe.
