Lore
Martial arts was considered redundant in the face of battles between sword and magic, yet there were a select few who still studied the techniques, keeping the tradition alive. One such practitioner was Kain, who won five world championships in a row before the competitions were cancelled. He was a regular mortal human, with no divine aid, who could crush whole mountains if given a week alone.
Of course, this talent had led to many bounty hunting opportunities. Anyone who dared ask a man such as himself to preform such low jobs had their head sent home with half the skull missing.
Eventually, word reached his little hometown about the battle of the Ancients, and that they were recruiting any help that they could get. Seeing this as an opportune moment to show the world the power of Martial arts, Kain was the first to sign up.
Skills
Q: Pressure point (passive)
When Kain attacks, he has a chance to land
a lucky hit on an opponent's weak spot, dealing
double damage and ministunning.
Kain uses his immense strength to
crash his fists into the ground, sending
out a shockwave which minorly damages
and slows opponents in a line.
Range: 700/800/900 Slow: 10%/20%/30%/40% Slow duration: 2/2/3/4 Damage: 100 Cooldown: 16/15/14/13 Mana cost: 120/110/100/90 "Training in mountains tends to do that to a person."
E: Boulder punch combo (Target unit)
Kain unleashes a volley of slow punches on to a
targeted unit. Each punch does slowly increasing damage,
and there are four punches in total. The fourth punch deal
regular auto attack damage, but automatically triggers
pressure point. If he is stunned during this time, the spell ends.
Using a trick he once learned from a friend
up north, Kain prepares a powerful punch that activates
when he next attacks an enemy. The punch knocks back
the enemy for 200, stuns, and deals extra damage.
The next 5 autoattacks after this ability also
receive the extra damage.
Stun: 2/2.5/3 Extra damage: 50/100/150 Aghanim's scepter extra damage: 100/150/200 Aghanim's scepter stun: 2.5/3/3.5 Cooldown: 80/70/60 Mana cost: 190/180/170/160 "The strength that broke a mountain in one punch"
Responses
Spawning:
-My fists are always ready.
-I wasn't going to let Martial arts die like that!
-That was a shoddy performance.
Moving:
-Hastening to victory.
-Will we find battle there?
Killing a hero:
-My own 'Handiwork'! Haha!
-Martial arts beats magic/steel.
Killing a rival: Tusk - Tusk, old friend...Why did it come to this? Tusk - This isn't a bar fight, Tusk. Go home. Drow Ranger Silence me all you want, my fists speak for themselves. Dark Seer You, atleast, utilised your fists.
Meeting an ally Tusk - Hey, Tusk! My punch has gotten better. Tusk - us against 5? Just like old times at the tavern, eh Tusk? Dark Seer A strategist AND a fist user AND a mage! You, my friend, are awesome.
Does the passive apply whilst you are still under the effects of the ulti? If you get lucky this is 2000 damage over 5 hits.
This is a great idea. All the skills are very well balanced. Good job! In other words:
I... I think I'm in love!
BY THE POWER OF PSEUDO-RANDOM CHANCE! I HAVE THE CRITICAL!!!!
No in all seriousness, it does. With Pseudo-random, this is so unlikely I don't even know.
If you WERE that lucky......FALLLCOOOOON....PUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUNCH!
Well, ya never know. You have about a 0.525% chance of this occurring, meaning it'll happen once every 190 casts. That's not as uncommon as you might think. :)
Sounds like the same chance to earn a random bonus reward from a treasure chest. The amount of hard earned cash I've spent trying to get my hands on those rewards... (by "hard earned cash" I mean money I earned from selling dota 2 items on the marketplace)
