DotA 2 starts to become toxic when you care too much about winning and about what people has to say about you.

The entire objective of the game is winning. One way or another, you may be trying to improve your play and try out new tactics, but winning the game is the ultimate goal. If you're not in it to win it, you're wasting your team's time.

Yeah I agree with this, even if you want to play for fun, great that's fine but as long as you're in-it to win it. It's like hearing people say tryhards, well... we aren't suppose to play to win?

Well, you play to win, but you can still lose with dignity - there's no need for most of the flaming and whinging that goes on.

I have had a pretty good experience as well. I didn't do well in several games but my team was nice and gave me tips. It might have helped that I accidently had my mic on voice activation while I was trying to talk on vent with Atlas and NotSureIf but oh well. :D

I think most people get frustrated when there's someone bad on their team but most aren't going to flame you for it. Everybody has bad games and everybody knows that. The problem is the people who are vocal are angry and mean and a few bad experiences can make you feel like the whole community is like that. Most people won't bother typing "don't worry everybody has bad games" unless you apologize or something.

The most someone has raged at me was:
"I'm feeding :C" (me)
"Yeah you suck"

Probably because I never really say anybody sucks except myself.
