Postion 1 to 2 core building utility items like Mek, Scythe, Rod of Aui, Shiva's, Ag's, Refresher ect ect. Or just generally tanking up.
I feel that as a support he drops off slightly to much, and you can't take advantage of the sheer amount of early sustain he grants with a mek and Death Pulse. Whilst Heartstopper Aura, and Reaper's Sycthe, obviously scale well into the late-game, so being tanky and survivable to get the most of them is needed.
Whereas as a Support I think he'll be irrelevent for much to long.
Also, am I the only person who thinks rushing Ag's is lack-luster? Rushing it to me always feels like you get it before the true power of disabling buy-backs takes effect (Namely when having a buyback or no buyback on death decides games)
Mid position 2, rush Mek into Scepter core. Buy things like Refresher and Scythe for utility and that's all you need. You still need a right clicker or heavy nuker to actually deal damage because Necrophos has trouble getting people under the kill threshold in the late mid game. He carries the game by keeping people out for a long time, and by wearing down enemies while keeping his own healthy. Basically he carries by being such a good support lol
