Do you see the projectiles you attack with coming back at you as he reflects your attacks? Nope, now your evasion means nothing at all.

Do you propose we should let evasion be a factor as to whether or not the damage gets reflected? I actually agree with this one. But then again, this will greatly increase the power of heroes like Phantom Assassin, who now no longer needs to fear about Blade Mail so much if it works that way. Gotta find a way to balance that somehow...

The reflect should be a conversion to pure damage... it cant be the same amount of physical damage but a conversion to a lesser amount

This is due to the fact that regardless of who blade mail is good on, it is still an intelligence themed item....

Agility heroes shouldn't just naturally have the upper hand with a higher armor against an intel hero who uses blade mail, it would have to be a conversion of physical to pure that is from a higher value to a lesser value to keep blade mail a useful and consistent choice for intel heroes, especially against agility heroes.

A phantom assassin crit against an intel hero with blade mail activated who has even 1 life left should refect the crit back at pa and be determined if it is going to hit or not after passing through evasion but if IT DOES HIT it is going to hurt her even quite reliably in to the late game because the physical would be converted in to a pure of lesser value but due to the fact of being a crit it would still be a high value non the less and defintely make her vulnerable due to being a lesser life pool hero as she is in the first place.

Stat growth:
2.2 str
3.2 agi
1.4 int

Another key point is making the component for blade mail a wizard staff instead of a robe... to divert phantom assasins away from their element a little more if they choose to get a blade mail.

Just change meteor hammer to a robe and make the regen ring level 2 so that the list of wizard staff components is not too many. I think this makes more sense for meteor hammer anyways as it is more strength themed then intel, and the higher strength relates to the level 2 regen ring.

Another key point of blade mail, considering it is an item with an intelligence theme (supporting the squishiest of squishy classes)

New stat on blademail

Always reflects the damage of a final blow

This makes sense because blade mail isn't really like a high tier item... so it is always best to eventually trade it out for something better anways, not having to worry about this final blow factor.

Hell, even this "final blow reflect" gauruntee could be a mana drain active/passive to go along with the theme of mana relative to intel.

Make it a "true reflect" if you want...

quick double while this is still at the top

And how reflect is suppose to work with block(see block thread also in general discussion)... if reflecting an enemies attack with blade mail on and a simultaneous proc block, the enemy should take the full damage (even the amount blocked), but in return it would pass through THEIR block chance if they also have a shield.

And then if they block, then that amount is reduced down in terms of physical damage and THEN converted in to the lesser pure damage value, which will be lesser then what it was if had not blocked the reflect.

Think about how this even makes sense on heroes like axe

Block is basically nerfed on melee heroes standing still (aforementioned in other thread)

Omg, so now axe is inferior when he taunts and has a shield on!

Not true, block was never the proper defense of choice for a life pool strength hero...

That's why axe gets 50 armor when he taunts which is synergy with his higher life pool...

Sure, you can put a shield on him for the sake of diving....for getting a taunt cast off... but that's really all it should have been meant for.

For any melee hero....

Especially strength melee heroes...
