I'm going to have to disagree with you here. I think QoP's ult is amazing at 6, and I would never skip it. Also, rarely do I see good players skip it. Here's some justification as to why I think this:

(Pu12e said that QoP's ult costs too much to pick up at 6, and this was my reponse)

I'm tempted to change my build just because Pu12e builds similar...lemme guess he also rushes Dagon?
For high level play I refer to Chu from HoN a lot, after he nearly beat fnatic with Wretched Hag, he also didn't always go ulti at 6..I was very impressionable in those hon days..but generally I'm just comfortable with the build and change based on the hero I'm against or situation. I do always listen when you put out info though (two cents days when you basically taught us proper dota). Wulfstan also was the one that replied with the best advice when I asked for help on Akasha and I've been far more successful with her since then.
Has Pu12e even been around since you guys murdered his clan? Haha

True, Chu did have a decent Hag...

But, do you remember when World went 11-0 against Chu's Hag with Night Hound? :D

This is how I think of it:

Let's say I'm Lion, and you're on the opposing team as a QoP. You rotate to the tri and have no ult. You blink in scream, and now you have to wait 7 seconds before you can do anything. Most likely I am going to respond with disables and we can fight back somewhat well. If blink in, scream, and ult, It's much more likely that I will not be able to react in time to defend our lane.

Think of those Wombo Combos on Dotacinema, you know? Usually fights that are completely one sided involve several huge AoE disables/ults that catch the whole team, and they wipe the team before a single spell is cast. That's what wins team fights. That element of surprise. By the time the player realizes what's going on, it's too late and they've already lost. Skipping ult gives an opponent too much time to react and defend themselves. Too much time for allies to come in and TP, or cast defensive spells on them like heal, repel, grave, etc...

Especially versus a tri lane! I mean, if you hit all 3 heroes with an ult, and they're doing an aggro tri? Psshhhh... Guaranteed wipe and T1 tower.

P.S. Glad you remembered those VoDs I did, and I'm especially glad you were able to learn from them!!!

Yea is talk your games, helps me see some warding spots I never considered, been playing a lot of crystal maiden, 12wins 6 losses..the warding spots I've observed never get de-warded in the MMR tier I'm in. I can't do support lion though, too tempting to go mid, merk and roam.
Also on the qop, my theory revolves around dominating the mid lane, and farming, than roaming as late as possible ensuring orchid is up before I go anywhere, but lanes that are getting crushed tend to need help so it doesn't always work out, so I definitely see where you're coming from, attacking an aggro tri means ulti, definitely going to have to adjust the build for situations as such
