smurfs...

for those that don't know, a smurf account is where an experienced player usually 300 games + creates another steam account and starts playing. this means he/she will be placed with other people that are "just beginning". the reasons for this range from "i need a better KDA or Win/Loss ratio" or i want to get a big record, or i have a friend that has just started and i want to play with him/her.

now some people say this is fine since these players usually if they are actually good, (and we all know there's players out there with 400+ games that are atrocious) then they should be racking up kills and wins at a quick rate and be placed in a higher skill bracket quickly.

your probably asking why am i rambling on about this and my questions are these.

recently my mate (who just started about a month ago) played a pub match with me coaching him and it was obvious a player on the enemy team was on a smurf account (lvl 2 dota profile playing invoker getting off 4-5 spell combo's and ended up with a 49-1 at close of game).

should this be allowed ?
does it affect the dynamics of the game?
is these smurf players hindering the spread of dota2 to the masses
or are they helping it, in the weird way of "i want to be as good as that guy so ill play more"...
should volvo try to restrict this from happening?

anyway would love to here peoples thoughts on this.

cheers

this is good you know... it forces low level players to play in a better way.getting stomped by someone who is not sniper, riki or barathrum is bound to teach them something..

If you do well, your mmr should climb rather quickly so there wouldn't be that many games before your smurf account is back on your level of skill.
