I can confirm that Helm of the Dominator works perfectly on him, paired with heal from Urn of Shadows and Q skill, gives him so much survivability.

Also my most succesful tactic is to go against lane against enemy carry to harass him with Burning Spear, not allowing him to farm. On my 30/0/10 game I had 25 lvl when enemy Spectre had only Quelling Blade, Tranquil Boots and Blade of Alacrity...
Not allowing enemy carry to farm is a thing every team should do to ensure it's win, and Huskar is perfect at doing that.

you won't get the heal during q strikes - but I know you know that ;)

I created a blog on huskar, about being the off laner - on organised lane - you will die, 2 disables on you, with no escape, no real nuke - your dead.. everytime too (or should be anyway) but with in a trilane, or even a solid duo lane you can do well - and as you said prevent the enemy carry from farming well - i agree, I tried this over the weekend as well.

I disagree with the HoTD build however - his new passive is designed to keep him alive - 2k is better spent on HP, than lifesteal - what if you get disabled, and can't right click? for the same amount of money you could have a hood already.. and focus on q dmg, as opposed to life steal.. again situational - but in a team scenario (or at least higher skilled pub), I imagine rushing pipe or mech is a good build..

He's still a snowball hero. They new changes were made so that people would start using his burning spears, which in my opinion, is now the strongest ability of his, though it does fall off after mid game. Because it is an Orb, I don't see Lifesteal quite as often.

I see more than anything Ghost Scepter Huskar than anything. With his high magic resist, it practically makes spells do normal damage, but you become immune to autoattacks, so for the duration you just spam your spears while the enemy sits around not knowing what to do.

In all honestly, the buff changed him, but I'd hardly say it truly made him a far better hero, he just plays a bit differently now. He is still shut down by stuns, and needs a good start to be relevant in the late game.
