Blizzards Dota Opinions? .

That's a sort of naive thing to say. It's a free mod on starcraft 2 that they are making. For free. How are they capitalizing on other people's accomplishments? It's not like anyone is going to buy SC2 just becauase they made a DOTA for it, and if they do, who cares? It's still free.

No. Blizzard is making a FREE CUSTOM MAP in Starcraft 2 that is their own version of DOTA. Emphasis on free. They aren't capitalizing on anything, they are just making their own version of it as an sc2 mod. http://us.battle.net/sc2/en/game/maps-and-mods/mods/dota

Actually, you need SCII to play it for free. Considering they are launching Blizzard DOTA along with HOTS and their marketplace, it's not get-all-the-content-for-free. They have also said that people can play it with the free starter edition at a cost.

So most likely the map/mod will not be 100% free, sorry. Blizzard doesn't work like that.

Blizzard has yet to officially state what they are going to do without a vague, open-ended answer.

Yeah on the site Blizzard is really dodgy about saying its free. They said there will probably be some way to get it for free, but it may not be as good.

I remember when first WoW came out it was glorious abd the trailer... Oh the trailer ! But now they messed it up. WotLK was still good. Cata made it worse. Pandarea is goin to kill it. Well back on topic they didn't make it but a big BUT if there was no WC3 thre wouldnt have been a map called DOTA maybe even the whole ganre MOBA ! So Blizzard has done a good job on that. Don't hate that company too much everybody wants money but they want to much.

They have actually stated in interviews that it was no doubt free to play, but /shrug.

Even so, it will boost sales for those on the fence about SC2.
