thing is, it was better above 3k, it wasnt all the same picks and losing the game because of people playing like total idiots and not taking the game seriously
Have you considered finding people to play with?
Even having just one person to go in a stack with you for ranked can be such a relief, because it means there will be at least 2 competent players, instead of just one. It's the only way I put up with playing the game for a very long period of time.
The people here are lovely, and I'm sure can find the time to play with ya if you ask.
I mean yeah, it's not solo MMR you are making, but the trade off is still worth it, given that MMR is just a number, and nothing really important.
The easiest way to improve your mmr is to be flexible and open minded. Don't always force yourself into a certain position, become comfortable with playing support every now and then. Although we would all like to play the carry, it is oftentimes most beneficial to come to terms with the fact that others want to play carry as well.
Also, try not to be so critical when it comes to your teammates. They may very well be horrible, but solely placing the blame on them when it comes to your own solo mmr is definitely not the right thing to do. If you only blame others and never admit your own faults as a player, you'll end up effectively limiting your dota career. Watch the replays of ranked games that you win and lose, and think to yourself, "What could I personally have done better in order to have improved the quality and outcome of that match?" Remember, nobody is perfect, and you may very well be just as imperfect as the bad teammates that you despise without even knowing it.
Finally, know that an mmr is just a number. It only holds as much meaning as you place on it. If you play dota for fun, don't give too much mind to your solo or party mmr. You play the game to have a good time, not necessarily to win. If you play dota competitively and enjoy the concept of proving your worth as a player, then look at your own mmr as a gauge of your personal skill. Use mmr to set goals for improvement, and constantly look for opportunities to better your game.
Thats the problem gingerino, no matter what role i play it doesn't normally make a difference, i mean when i play for example troll with an even semi competent team usually we'll win, its the same if i play a game with AA or a bounty hunter. in DotA i can play almost all roles with at least moderate skill, the problem is, is team decision making, every game i play no its 3 man into their 5 man team, or completely ignore each other all game and play 4 cores. no matter what position i play in solo i havnt found any that really make it better for my team, it just changes what they shout at when im trying to play smart rather then head first and not thinking. Also i do know my own flaws as a player, in the early game i have to really concentrate on getting last hits a stop looking at the minimap so much. or as a support i get so focused in getting ward money i never have a TP when i need it (just to name a couple which is why i have my own AA sort of rule set i try to follow to help me keep on top of it.)
literally the only problem im having atm is inexperienced team members. i got into dota by watching pro games, still do now, and i dont pretend to be as good as them, but i do take into note some of the things they do, like recently i remember XBOCT playing in DAC (i think dont remember the game though) and everyone knows hes a rediculusly aggressive player. But this one game as troll warlord he managed to turn a 3 vs 1 fight around and got out alive by knowing the mechanics of whirling axes and being able to TP out with minimal health left. its things like this that ive picked up on that have taught me how far to push a lot of heroes and how to escape bad situations with some. the problems come when were winning as a team, seeing how far i go for kills and get out alive because i know how far i can push it before dieing my team does the same btu doesnt know their heroes limits. this is the biggest problem im having. or why ive just respawned and went top lane because there was a team fight, regardless of the fact we were about to lose it because we were 2 heroes down and another with no mana running for his life.
this currently is my problem, team decision making after seeing that were winning, ill try and dig up a good replay to show it off i have one in mind which ill post after this reply. if you watch it general criticism is always good but its mostly to display my point.
Match ID: 1197678160
this was my most recent troll game, going really really aggressive almost all game, i cant remember it all, but the radiant team started to make a come back through bad decisions (this included my own and i know where i played it badly this game)
