Don't know why you would get it on Lycan. Seeing that you would have to get it late in order to get a quick Vlads. Depending on how things are going, I usually have Vlad + Treads under the 13 minute mark. Depending on team composition, I then either go for dps or push items.

There is the advantage of a much faster lvl16, and the faster a Lycanthrope reaches lvl16, the sooner he becomes a menace.

its not good on lycan at all,
but the general thought of this is very important, and i really miss it here:

as it is said, with the cost of 2050 gold,
midas will make up for its cost after you have used it 11 times.

so most of the time, e.g. on heros like invoker/warlock, its also a very good item,
if you get it early, because of the additional experience you get from it.
and also this is exactly the reason, why you see midas on supports now and then.

Lycan:
as splitpusher, lycan dosent really need a midas at all, because he has so much solo exp all game long. in addition: his strong tower-push-potential gives him also the ability to directly purchase "dem big itemzz"!

Midas is good on Invoker due to the fact that he gains more from levels than he does from gear.

Also, Lycan really doesn't need Midas due to the fact that he's good at farming. Either from lane or jungle. He is a strong pusher and can kill most squishy heroes pretty quickly. So, on average, he will never be in that deep of a hole when it comes to xp or gold.

*sigh* I'll never make Hand of Midas 1st on a Lycanthrope popular, will I? ._.
