Dusk Chill | This spell is so simple that it needs no discussion. It's just a really good spell to keep enemies from moving too much as he does his other abilities: Ectoblasts and Soul Fraction. All of which works in an AoE of about 400 radius. |
Ectoblasts |
Imagine mini-sunstikes every few seconds near Gigalogas. Enemies can see exactly where they will pop during the delay. This is the ability that will make Gigalogas be picked in a competitive meta. It is also no coincidence that this is his most frustrating spell to play against. If all implosions continuously hit an enemy, its disarm will have a 60% (86%) uptime! There's currently no heroes in the game that can disarm this much, making him a valid counter-pick against right-clicking heroes! Due to the nature of this ability. Actually hitting anything will be quite a challenge. Prior set-up will be required (hint: Dusk Chill), however, with such a low cooldown its definitely going to hit some times as enemies will get too busy to move too much. |
Soul Fraction |
bonus visual
If you never mind the mana cost, this ability has the most utility. It can detect invisible heroes and scout enemies in the fog of war; it deal both magic and pure damage, as well as healing allies. Its effects grow the more heroes are in vicinity. But it does put the squishy mage dangerously into the fray. |
Recrudescence |
Finally, we have Recrudescence, a unique form of resurrection as the only ability that can be cast while dead. The hero resurrects as a Phantom Liger! Despite the small differences between the mortal mage form and the Phatom Liger form, that's a MASSIVE change in playstyle. The mortal form must usually play semi-passively to protect it's small HP pool. Phantom Liger form is a powerful, but more unstable version of the hero, the biggest outlier is that he's constantly losing massive amounts of HP per second. This is where the lifesteal and spell lifesteal comes into play, forcing the Phantom Liger form to be most aggressive. The ability Soul Fraction provides some amount of healing as well. |
