In my last match tonight I learned something I couldn't believe possible: you can be too paranoid in placing wards.

We were against a Pudge and the Sniper in my team after getting hooked so many times started to buy countless wards and this is how he placed them, note the minimap:

What a nice little pentagon, right? No need to ward our jungle or roshan. When I asked explanation he said "What? I warded all Pudge hotspot" -___- If only he had been overzealous in evading those hooks instead... come on it's not that hard to predict the trajectory.

First of all, why did the Sniper have to buy wards? Secondly, I think that placing wards simply to spot out Pudge was pretty wasteful. So yeah, your Sniper was so worried about Pudge he didn't focus on the other problems such as

1. No ward on Roshan.

2. No wards in the greater part of your jungle around your safelane tier 2 tower. What if they forced a fight coming from the river towards your tower through the jungle. You wouldn't know they were coming until the last second.

3. No wards in the enemy jungle. You have no safety net in case you are planning on, oh I don't know, pushing the enemy teams lane? Without wards you are in a very tedious situation.

4. When spending money on wards he is making himself more useless. Which again brings up the question of "why didn't the supports buy the wards?"

In conclusion, Sniper had way too much tunnel vision when assessing the situation and would thus recommend not to follow his example :)

See you on the battlefield,

-BK

Yeah, what I don't understand is why warding ALL the hotspots. It's like those supports that at the start of the game travel half the map to wards both rune spots. You just need a ward in one spot, and if the rune isn't there, then it's in the other spot. Pretty simple, you just need a bit of imagination.
But yeah I agree that Crystal Maiden should have been buying wards, but he's a good player and I know him, he just isn't used to play support... I was playing Spirit Breaker just because he was in my All Hero Challenge, otherwise I would have been the support.
