Just to flesh out a few skill intensive heroes, I'd like to hear what the community thinks, or feels as to which hero, be it challenge, utility, or joy of playing, provided you with a rewarding feeling when you reached that comfortable level of play with them. The ones I've listed are of personal experience, landing great hooks, combos, stealing spells, or Meepo in general. Those are just a few things I thoroughly enjoy. Invoker for me has been a prideful ascent from bashing buttons and Mis-invoking spells, getting stomped and looking lost to handily combining spells, and being able to adjust my skill build and plan what abilities I will need before a given situation. That transformation as a player has probably been the most rewarding experience, adaptability to a given situation with a flexible hero, wide array of item choices..so much fun, and a welcome challenge.
Step 1: Pick Bristleback
Step 2: type in all chat:"GL hf"
Step 3: solo offlane
Step 4: first blood triple kill solo vs trilane
Step 5: continue head butting keyboard
Step 6: don't care, Bristleback doesn't give a ****
Step 7: screenshot repeated: BB OP comments in all chat
Step 8: alternate games with Slark pick

Im my opinion, it is Earth Spirit (WHAT A SURPRIZE, WULFY). I really enjoy his playstyle and the ability to make great plays, saving allies, helping your initiators out, etc. I think he's utility 101, with a place on any team, especially that he can play pretty much in any possition your team requires (except 1).

Completely Agreeing with Wulfstan, I have played all the heroes you have mentioned once and felt that Earth Spirit is the hardest to learn but in the end can have a huge impact on the game from any level albeit falling off late game. And also as Wulfstan said, he can play any role on the team except 1 so yeah. Learn Earth Spirit
Your new diet for heroes; You will need 4 wards (cuz wards taste better), 1 set of tangoes, 1 mango, 1 cheese.
With this you can make a nice Tango Mango Cheese platter. You can wash this all down with a nice bottle of water, Can be flavoured with red, green, yellow, blue, purple AND GOLD!
Caution: Taking roshan 3 times is required.

Well, considering I can't and don't play any of these heroes I'm just going to pick imo who is the coolest. I just think Invoker is such a crazy hero, he is definitely rewarding to learn I imagine. If you get good at it, pretty much no enemies can escape your sunstrikes, and you have such a huge impact on teamfights with a tornado, meteor, deafening blast combo.

They're all pretty rewarding
The cycle of a pro:
Find a fun hero
Get good at it because it's fun
Have fun because your good and get kills

I would say either Meepo or Earth Spirit.

Depends if you want to terrorise the entire map and outfarm everyone, or if you want to *****slap people around.

Rubick, because Kuro.

Besides that, Rubick requires pretty good knowledge of all the other spells, and can be game-changing if played well.

Invoker has the been the most rewarding for me lately. Landing those sick spell combos that lock-in a team wipe are so sick.

I have hardly played Earth Spirit but I have played with nothing but bad ES' so he kinda left a bad taste in my mouth and I haven't had the desire to play him.
