I was playing hard bots the other day (yeah I know noob)
And I got about 13 kills, so I thought that I'd go on co-op bots so I could play with a real team, I played on the same difficulty and did really terribly, like 2 to 7.
Is online bots harder or am I just having bad luck?

Having bad luck, they are not harder, but the real team you have is impacting (they could have fed the bots or something, since bots are way more responsive that real team, they could have also not helped you that much).

(or could just be my incompetence) Maybe playing against a real team could be easier?

Yeah, believe it or not but if you are playing with random people you might play with bots better. Ever notice how the bots always group up for pushes or defenses? Human players usually won't do that which results in a 4v5 or even 3v5 push/defense. Online bots aren't harder than offline ones I guess there are just those games where they might get more farmed, win the lane, get good ganks off, etc. Either way, bots are a great way to practice your hero, win or lose
