So, now I'll try to make a quiz thread myself involving the competitive scene. If you're not familiar with pro teams you'd better not try it as very few questions refer to the metagame and not to the competitive teams themselves. By the way, this quiz is pretty easy, I'm just throwing in everything I remember by memory. All the questions regarding Heroes and their win rate refer to the western scene.
So, let's start!
1) Cloud 9, previously known as Speed Gaming, had another name before being sponsored by SPG. Which one?
Spoiler: Click to view
Kai'Pi.
2)In The International 2, team LGD had a huge winning streak without losses. Do you remember which team beat them for the first time and how?
7) Which team usually plays in a lower tier but is famous for bringing down top tier teams with unusual strategies? Hint: aggressive trilane. I could give another hint but then it would be too obvious.
8) Which team the player SyndereN, now working for JoinDOTA, played for before retiring?
Spoiler: Click to view
Mousesports.
Recently, in the 6.81b patch, the price of the recipe of the Mjollnir was increased. Why? (Hint: which Hero usually picks up a Mjollnir?)
Spoiler: Click to view
To nerf Mirana indirectly, as she's a top tier Hero right now.
And, lastly, an easy question: which Hero was a top pick in 6.80 but severely fell off the meta after 6.80b as his winrate went below 40%? (I don't know if his winrate is still below 40%, but it was the month in which the 6.80b patch was released.)
i knew navi beat LGD.cn but i didnt know what way.
And i thought ember spirit's reign of terror was in 6.80? He fell off at the start of the qualifiers for TI, which was 6.80 im pretty sure. 6.79 was the pugna push meta.
Hmm, maybe I should change 6.79 to 6.80, but I'm pretty sure ES was pickable in 6.79 and he's basically been classified as op as soon as he entered the Hero pool.
5/10, I don't pay that much attention to comp, all I really watch is fnatic and cloud 9 games :S and of course some empire games
of course everyone knows about that black hole:D ty for the link btw, I just sat there and watched another 20 times, if only lightofheaven came back again so toby could go insane :)
only got 3 I think. In my defense I'm pretty tired. There were 2 more that I knew but just couldn't think. But I also disagree about the answer to number 9(?). The Mjollnir question. It was nerfed because it was just to powerful raising the value made sense. As Merlini said "it's no longer a no brainer whether you pick it up". I don't think you can narrow it down to a nerf on one specific hero. Is there any basis for that answer, like a quote from vale or something? Would just be nice to know if that is actually the case or just like your opinion maaaan. :p

just counted again got 4. Told you i was tired :D
Well, Mirana has been a top pick for a long time now, and everybody asked for a nerf since her winrate was above 60%. Besides, which other Hero that builds a Mjollnir is constantly picked in competitive? I can't think of anybody else but Dragon Knight, who rarely buys one and is not that common anymore.
