So i recently learned from a post here that Lifestealer can infest Beastmasters Hawk. So because of this, i know its unorthodox, but what if we sent a Lifestealer safelane to hard carry, and sent Beastmaster to support, then you could use the hawk combo to surprise gank whenever needed. Also i suppose this works with beastmaster going offlane but i was interested in the idea of keeping them close.
Beastmaster support isnt the greatest but you can just run him offlane or mid.
Throw in a tinker and lifestealer can just infest the blink dagger tinker, while tinker uses boots of travel on the hawk. It is a cool strategy and pretty effective.
Team liquid did this a while back, ill find the game and post a link in a few minutes.
There's no reason to have them in the same lane, it will be midgame before you can really get anything out of the combo, since Lifestealer needs a couple of items to be able to get solo kills reliably.
I'll test the Visage familiar interaction later today if no one else beats me to it. Dota2Wiki doesn't list familiars as mechanical but I know that site's not always right and familiars have a ton of weird spell interactions.
its just so strange that ive never seen anyone do it before becouse it could be really effective.
My prediction is that many pr0 players know about this strategy but just haven't used it in a pr0fessional game before, so at TI4, Na'vi will use it so that XBOCT can dive on any target of his choice, then simply Infest the Birds to get away.
It'll be a high-risk, high-return strategy that wins them a difficult game, but Icefrog will end up "patching" it out, because everyone will suddenly start crying that it shouldn't be allowed in the game.
Team Liquid used to do that, I've seen them running a team with Lifestealer, Tinker, Beastmaster, Visage and Rubick so they could abuse Tinker's BoT. Both the hawk and the familiars are a valid target for TPs, and Lifestealer can obviously infest Tinker.
Also, you can put Beastmaster mid or off-lane and get some other supports.
