hi guys so i have an idea for a hero, basically he would have the first three skills as passives and his ulti turns them into actives with additional effects.
how do you do mana costing for his passives before level 6?
since you wont be able to actively use them until 6.
for example (passive one)
basically every 8 seconds one enemy unit in a 600 AoE is hit with projectile which causes very low initial damage on target and a mediocre move slow. in a small AoE around the unit.
since it isnt a activated ability, how do you mana cost it?
any help or ideas on how to cost this would be awesome. cheers.
he is a dire strength hero and he would be i guess along the lines of a team fighter and hard carry babysitter since he isnt item dependent and he is quite good at lane harassment and once level six he can become quite effective in team fights dealing damage to multiple sources and buffing allies.
Perhaps your first passive regenerates health, second passive regenerates mana and your third passive maybe sacrifices some health and mana to deal additional damage when attacking (the damage should be high enough to be useful early on).
That's a pretty interesting hero concept in my opinion, in fact I created one that is pretty similar to this concept. In my hero all 3 skills are toggle skills, with the ultimate skill to enable him to use all his toggle in same time. I'm going to post it, be sure to check :)
For your hero, why don't you make it active in first place instead of passive? I mean, if you want to mana cost it it's better to be active right? Just give it low cooldown and passive to trigger it so it's semi passive like Quill Spray and Bristleback
In my opinion, though, it would be more interesting to have two passive skills that activate every few seconds ( like Jinada or Geminate Attack) and the third skill as active that costs mana to make the next attack unleash the effect, regardless of cool down
