You are our valentine

To show you how much we love you, and how much you are in our hearts, and how damn sorry we are for ruining Valentine's Day, we thought we'd share with you the final concept designs for three upcoming heroes: Lone Druid, Lycan, and Shadow Demon.









In an upcoming post, we're going to dive into the actual process that leads up to these final designs, so you can get a sense for how we approach the problem of hero design.

Looks damned good. Particularly liking Shadow Demon. Also, I'm seriously not looking forward to the release of Lycan.

amazing artwork, anyone know who the artist or artist's is for dota2?

I don't think it will be either of these. My guess is mortred or atropos.

I'm not sure if he was the concept artist for these hero's, but Peter König has been a Conecpt artist, modeler and texture artist for Valve Software since 2008 working on various games includes DOTA 2, Portal 2 and the Left 4 Dead series.

Shadow Demon, one scary midget. I'm kinda sad they have introduced popular competitive heroes. I was hoping they wouldn't introduce this as maybe a new strategy will prosper from untouched heroes in competitive play at all.

except Lycan's human form... he doesn't look badass enough in it, though it didn't feel like Archimode's model was that badass in dota1 lycan either so maybe this one will stay as it is.

Kil'jaeden's model, to be precise. Archimonde was the blue one. :P
