Hey all, so here's the deal-
I used to be a good Templar player but it all changed a few days ago.
I was away from home last weekend so I couldn't play dota, when I came back though I noticed I can't do **** with Templar anymore. I used to always go for tango>bottle>boots>dagger>phase boots
and the second I hit level 6 I start ganking and get fed.
This doesn't work for me anymore and I just can't understand why! Its as if her damage just ain't what it used to be...
I also notice a lot of people lately been building her for late game and not for mid game (like I used to do) and most of them don't even buy dagger.

So my question is- What changed? did she get nerfed in some way that turned her into a late carry and not semi-carry/mid game hero?

Thanks :)

Building her for the late game? The only change I've seen in her playing style was getting mobility items instead of the Blink Dagger: Drum of Endurance + Yasha is pretty popular on her, Black King Bar too. For the late game, I've only seen Desolators and Daedaluses (Daedali?). I think this is because the Blink Dagger is only taken for chasing purposes and, as TA isn't really an initiator, extra movement speed is preferable. It's like getting a Dagger it on Juggernaut or Lifestealer: it works, buy Phase + Drums is better.

I still like playing her with a Blink Dagger if gotten quickly enough: your attack damage may suffer a bit, but you can gank much earlier. Oh, and always take Phase Boots before the Blink Dagger! Chasing with no damage is useless.

She wasnt changed in 6.80 (or even in 6.79 I think) so I dont think anything official has happened to her. You probably had a few bad games, were up against heroes she isnt as effective against or the playerbase has just gotten better at dealing with her with a new mindset from the update.
Sven I think fell off hard as a carry a while ago not because he was nerfed, but people just got better at dealing with him. Could be a similar situation with Templar Assassin.
"Windranger" is not how you spell Windrunner.

Either just bad luck or you are in higher matchmaking.
It used to be that whenever i played storm spirit i would just autowin. I had 60 mana regen in the end and they couldn't stop me. Then i played him less and after a while i decided to play him a couple of times. I believe i lost all of them .

i usually prefer Blink Dagger and Phase Boots on Templar Assasin as it gives me the ability to shred enemies with a well placed Meld tap while giving nice survivability. Drums of Endurance, Yasha build is good too.
