Ranked Matchmaking

i know this is going to sound noob but how do you actually access/play ranked matches?

You have to have 150 games under your belt. Then the option is on the side. same place you can change from normal matches to bot matches.

My third game in ranked had a guy who played Lifestealer and decided he would jungle even when we had an Enchantress. Then proceeded to afk farm maxing his second and third skill with no point in the other two till level 9.

You have to play 10 placement matches since it was implicated.

10 placement matches? are they just normal pub matches? because ive played at least 15 or more matches since 6.79c was implemented.

What XCO2 is saying is that you should play 10 ranked matches to get your initial mmr, which becomes the basis of where you'll be put for "actual ranked play".

You SHOULD be able to see ranked matchmaking right below your normal matchmaking tab, check again. If you still can't access it then you have a problem, consider the dev forums.

ranked matchmaking is heaven!

i have only played the 10 placement-games so far, but all of them were rly rly good. I mean, we got stomped big times in 1 game, but even an occasional stomp is to be expected. Furthermore we didnt loose this game thanks to the stupidity of my own teammates like in normal MM; the enemy team just outplayed us and had overall better players (no shame in admitting that). And even that game was quite good.

My ratingis 4301 so far with 6 wins 4 looses. Also i played support in 9 of those 10 games, so i dont think that KDR rly makes that much of an impact on your rating.

I think having a rated ladder will actually increase the amount of people willing to play support. I never mind playing support, but it actually feels like it's for something now. Before rated, all people had to look at was their KDA ratio at the end of the game. Now that winning really matters, people are motivated to play as a team and take roles that are maybe not so glamorous in order to see their MMR rise.
