I updated and fixed some errors on my guide. I will add a hero section on Broodmother's perspective for every hero.

Like I said all heroes can fulfill any role. Some specialize better at it. Broodmother does not specializes in mid-lane therefore making her awful against superior mid-laners like Viper or Templar Assassin. Broodmother makes people feel awful against top and bottom lane. She can only get flanked by one general direction. Her reliance on the side lane shop is rather useful so that courier(s) can be reserved to her teammates. There are an abundance of trees at top or bottom lane meaning escaping are made easier.

Was just wondering as im a fairly new player but have found her more useful mid lane. Ive got used to microing a couple of spiderlings and having one in a web in front of me and behind to give me a bit of an early warning on enemy movement when pushing on the mid lane and using them almost like a sentry ward sacrificing 1 or 2 to make heroes cast AOE spells out of range of myself and the rest of the spiderlings. If I can see im about to get ganked I put a web in the trees off lane and use that as an escape before dust gets used, with the new patch it means a lot of the time im unreachable long enough to escape or just sit and hide. Agree that running mid against an AOE hero is almost impossible though.

I was going to write that, but she is terrible at mid-lane when it comes to escaping. While other heroes can get to rune areas safely with an escape plan or a huge health pool. Broodmother can't, her lack of innate speed and low health pool makes her a good target. You could make webs to get toward the bottle area but then you would have to spend points in webs just to get those maximum amount of webs. Broodmother at mid also makes her a horrible harasser. Most heroes who specializes at mid-lane prefer to be ranged and have anti-harassment abilities such as Viper ability to poison or Sniper ability to attack from a long distance. Not to mention Spawn Spiderlings should only be used for crowd control and harassment. A good hero with devastating AoE abilities can put a waste to your spiderlings. As usual, her escape mechanics are awful at mid-lane as her only escape is invisibility and unobstructed movement. Fighting at mid-lane causes you to escape through invisibility which can be countered by Sentry Ward or Dust of Appearance. Her unobstructed movement isn't that good of an escape when your nearby trees are near your tower or the enemy tower, and you're often at the middle of that trying to get some farm and deny out.

I should also say this. My build revolves around the side lane shop and reducing the need for a courier and allowing your teammates to use them.

EDIT: On second thought, maybe I will experiment with Broodmother using an experimental guide to handle this around.

Why do you think Broodmother is horrible middle lane? Would she not be perfect mid lane solo for early to mid game then rotate to another lane for mid to late game? With spawn spiderlings at level 2 its fairly easy to get a couple of early solo kills, depending who your up against of course

Everybody thinks every heroes needs to fulfill what their roles do. Not true. Any heroes can be a deadly killer, it's just that some heroes are better specialized at it. Crystal Maiden's Frostbite and Freezing Field combination ensures a heavy amount of damage is dealt to the frozen enemy. Jakiro is dangerous at harassing with his early stuns and flames.

However, I find a Daedalus is usually important for agility heroes as since these weapons have no cooldown, you can basically use your agility bonus which gives out more attack speed as your agility increases to your advantage. Although, a Crystalys is enough, the Daedalus is for those extremely late-games.

Well to be fair, Crystal Maiden's role IS heavy nuking power and lockdown.

There is very little reason to get vanguard on brood for sure, though. Her web's HP regen plus a poorman's shield work out quite to her favor. Quite honestly, the only reason that Vanguard is so cost inefficient is because poorman's is just so good by comparison, especially if you are going to get a ring of health anyway to make something like a battlefury (or in broods case her level 4 web is a ring of health)

No matter what you do DONT get a vanguard on brood as the item needs a major buff to be picked on essentialy anyone also daedlus is a meh item on brood

I wouldn't suggest picking up a Vanguard at late game as it is total **** once past ~30 minutes.

Yeah I fixed that since I've gotten a Vanguard in 15 minutes often
