Try playing about 10-20 games without guides, see how you're doing.

If it's back, come here and learn more!

Also, you can customize the item build and such in game.

Over time you'll get a better appreciation of WHY you're buying that item or levelling that skill on that hero at that time, instead of just doing it because that's what the guide says. Once you're more comfortable with the WHYS you can start adjusting things on the fly and see how you get on. As Hades said, try playing some games without the guides and see how you get on.

I think the best thing to do for yourself is to stop going in to games and using the cheat sheet from guides last minute, read a whole guide on two or three different heroes, and learn them in depth and go into the match with picking one of those heroes in mind, picking heroes with different or multiple roles will help ensure someone doesn't pick or counter pick the heroes you need or want to play that match.

But then again that's pretty hypocritical of me to say since I like to learn from experience. Normally when I play a different game I might use a cheat sheet for the first game but once I understand how my skills work I will skill in order to what I need at the moment and build items that are in the right category and you'll tend to see a trend that if you do this that your item and skill build will slowly but not intentionally transition to the vanilla build that is advertised in most guides, because usually those are what are most efficient.

That's what I think I'm gonna do play like 3 different hero's, after reading everything about them. Then try getting better with them then move on. What would 3 good hero's be to start out with. Cause I pretty much know how to play Spectre and OD and a few more cause i play them alot.

Well you have a 1 and a 2 there, so a 4 or 5 role would be a nice last pick. Just find a support that's either ranged or my personal favorite is playing a support Nyx Assassin. Lacks the ability to be a big AoE presence like most other supports and is melee but the pros are having the highest base health regen in the game, two escape spells that can also be used to initiate, having a semi-omnipresence when you're not visible on the map, great damage, a nice disable that can be both targetable or point and click (for invis units), naturally counters any high Int heroes, and is also played mid and quite good at it. He's also a counter for OD, so getting to know him better will help you're game as OD vs. Nyx Assassin.

Its a priority of farm, generally people refer to them as roles, but its really something that's just relative to what your team is doing. 1 being they require the farm and the team should forfeit their farm for that hero, and 5 being that they are completely ignoring farm if someone else is in the lane, and/or you are needed elsewhere. You could have a team of all supports and you'd still have a 1-5.

An example for most tri-lane compositions would be: 1 being hard carry, 2 is your solo mid, 3 is your solo offlane, 4 is a support who stacks and pulls, and 5 is the in-lane support.

Whereas having a jungler would most likely be: 1 hard carry, 2 solo mid, 3 jungle, 4 offlane, 5 support.
