So first and foremost I would like to introduce myself, my gamertag is DachshunD in dota2. I've been playing dota since 2006 and feel like I really know this game very well. In the way people go to college to learn new careers I feel like I watched Dota all these years and played to forge my path/career in Dota a reality. I also want to mention I am not seeking fame/fortune/self interests. I genuinely love Dota and the Dota2 community and for the firs time feel like I'm able to make a change in the community. I can be the spark that changes Dota2 for the better, i just need to find the kindling to start the fire that will sweep across and engulf the dota community in a passion/love for this game that nobody thought possible. Anyways I"m done ranting and talking about how I feel/who I am. This is a conversation I just had with a friend about an idea I have. I have many and this is just ONE of MANY. Just looking for feedback from the community so I can better/shape these Ideas so that they will be viable and work. This is a VERY rough idea of what I want to do first. It's not complete/finished but it's the base of the structure of my idea.

AskMeAboutDota2 i'll play for the next few hours, got these ideas i need to write down
AskMeAboutDota2 talked to ixmike from teamliquid and he gave me some ideas about how to further this idea i have
AskMeAboutDota2 ok
AskMeAboutDota2 so i got this idea for a dota book
AskMeAboutDota2 don't imagine what's the market for this, just see the ideas through a dota players eyes, someone who loves the game.
AskMeAboutDota2 it's a history book of sorts
AskMeAboutDota2 chronicalling the evolution of dota
AskMeAboutDota2 from it's infancy to it's height right now
AskMeAboutDota2 this might work for an article on joidota, but i think it needs a book to tell it in length
AskMeAboutDota2 but anyways it's a history book
AskMeAboutDota2 for dota
looFy^D is now playing Dota 2. Click here to join.
AskMeAboutDota2 talking about the first days of dota
AskMeAboutDota2 and each chapter is a new patch
AskMeAboutDota2 or big change
AskMeAboutDota2 like a chapter would be on 6.45 then small one on 6.45b and then just move to the next major change
AskMeAboutDota2 like 6.46
AskMeAboutDota2 there's been so many changes
AskMeAboutDota2 and i think it's like reading a history book
AskMeAboutDota2 like wow
AskMeAboutDota2 looking at a story/hisotry book telling of the frontier days
AskMeAboutDota2 and then ppl are like wow they had to churn butter?
looFy^D: haha
looFy^D: sounds coo
AskMeAboutDota2 it would be like wow, the courier actually didnt' slow down when it had an empty bottle
AskMeAboutDota2 it would be like telling a story/chronicalling dota and it's growth/history/legacy
AskMeAboutDota2 i think this will last awhile
AskMeAboutDota2 and ppl will look back in 10 years and see this as the early almost bronze or iron age of dota history compared to it's current meta/form

THANK YOU for taking the time and reading this whole mess haha, Please leave your feedback below and I will answer any and all questions to better clarify something/justify why I think it will work.
Again thank you,
DachshunD

Expanding upon my first thoughts:
"Be the change you wish to see in the world"

When you buy items and u dead, u can't sell them back because you are dead, but when you're alive you could have sold back if you mistakenly buy an item. Not sure if it's a bug, but just something I noticed that could be looked at/investigated

Thanks again for your time and please leave comments on my thoughts/opinions of your own, really want to hear the whole communitys voice on this stuff to maximize it's appeal/benefit to the community

These are just talks i had with players, i thought they might be interesting thoughts on dota just in general. Similar to Epi recent interview of kuroky/EE I think these Ideas/talks/philosophy will help change the dota 2 community Thanks in advance

{I.U.}Burrito: just dont feel like playing games when people are gonna blam e****ty play on "its a pub"
{I.U.}Burrito: either play well or dont play
{I.U.}Burrito: my opinion
{I.U.}DachshunD: how do u expect to get better if u don't try new things and fail
{I.U.}Burrito: what new things did we try?
{I.U.}Burrito: looked the same to me
{I.U.}Burrito: bragging bo
{I.U.}DachshunD: we had tri lane bot for first3 min
{I.U.}Burrito: and it was fine
{I.U.}DachshunD: with u me drow
{I.U.}Burrito: should have stayed that way
{I.U.}DachshunD: and i've never eve3n thought to do that, but it kinda worked in a weird way
{I.U.}Burrito: of course it would
{I.U.}Burrito: ...
{I.U.}DachshunD: not saying it would work in a real game, but fun to experiment with new stuff
{I.U.}Burrito: slow silence
{I.U.}Burrito: stun
{I.U.}Burrito: slow
{I.U.}DachshunD: yeah
{I.U.}Burrito: what is not to work
{I.U.}Burrito: ...
{I.U.}Burrito: but still dosent excuse
{I.U.}Burrito: how ****ty that way
{I.U.}DachshunD: see we3 coudl just stumbled on new meta because someone didn'twanna change lanes we adapted
{I.U.}DachshunD: and made it work
{I.U.}Burrito: meh
{I.U.}Burrito: should have been easy *** win
{I.U.}Burrito: all of us were raping
{I.U.}Burrito: but then we wanna **** around and chase weaver all game
{I.U.}Burrito: if that is good "practice" then count me out
{I.U.}DachshunD: ok
{I.U.}Burrito: but really, ill be down when yuo wanna play real dota
{I.U.}Burrito: aka cm mode
{I.U.}Burrito: where people dont act stupid
{I.U.}Burrito: ...
{I.U.}DachshunD: well i'm saying it's how a few ideas can be sparked, with adapting to the game, getting out of your comfort zone, playing from behind makes you a better player
{I.U.}Burrito: experiementing yes
{I.U.}Burrito: chasing weaver fopr 20+ minutes
{I.U.}Burrito: no
{I.U.}DachshunD: then when we actually know what were doing in cm games its a cake walk
{I.U.}DachshunD: cause were used to it being harder
{I.U.}Burrito: why chase weaver?
{I.U.}Burrito: all game
{I.U.}DachshunD: that was a mini game
{I.U.}Burrito: i dont get it
{I.U.}Burrito: no its what lost us the game
{I.U.}DachshunD: like chasing him was fun, i saw it as an excercise in guessing his movemnt/patterns
{I.U.}Burrito: ..
{I.U.}DachshunD: and not worrying, just tying to figure out weaver better
{I.U.}Burrito: he is pretty self explanatory
{I.U.}DachshunD: i know
{I.U.}DachshunD: but you can always learn more
{I.U.}DachshunD: always improve
{I.U.}Burrito: then what is there to figure out
{I.U.}DachshunD: always practice
{I.U.}Burrito: he runs around invis
{I.U.}Burrito: making us not only look stupid
{I.U.}DachshunD: idk that's why i'm studying him
{I.U.}DachshunD: lol
{I.U.}Burrito: but winning his team the game
{I.U.}Burrito: playing now, try again later
{I.U.}Burrito is now playing Dota 2. Click here to join.
{I.U.}Burrito: bo doesnt take **** seriously enough for me
{I.U.}DachshunD: he does, me and him are talking, we get it, not saying you don't but i'm trying to convey how we feel/how we see it and thenyou will never be mad playing dota again
{I.U.}DachshunD: trust me
{I.U.}DachshunD: getting emotional/mad always makes ppl play worse
{I.U.}DachshunD: and they never get better
{I.U.}Burrito: its not about being mad
{I.U.}DachshunD: dota is mental and physical
{I.U.}DachshunD: it's your mindset
{I.U.}Burrito: i got mad when you guys started being dumb
{I.U.}DachshunD: i never got mad that whole game
{I.U.}DachshunD: and i played fine
{I.U.}DachshunD: i laughed,
{I.U.}DachshunD: i had fun
{I.U.}DachshunD: i joked
{I.U.}DachshunD: dota was fun
{I.U.}Burrito: it wasnt fun...
{I.U.}DachshunD: and that's all i want to do playing dota is have fuj
{I.U.}DachshunD: well maybe one day you will see it how i see it and you will enjoy it as much as i do

I like the idea. It has potential, and it really can be interesting to see what changed as Dota went along. Especially considering how big it has become.
