The Dota Code

Take this as a semi-humorous attempt to tell new players how a good Dota player should act in as few words as possible.

Feel free to post your own idea of a Dota Code.


The Negative Code:
1. I will not steal farm from the carries.
2. I will not pick a carry hero if my team already has three.
3. I will not auto-attack creep waves unless it is time to push.
4. I will not be greedy by diving for kills or rushing items.
5. I will not whine or insult if I or my team is losing.

The Positive Code:
1. I will play as part of my team.
2. I will know my roll on the team. (carry, support)
3. I will talk to my team mates.
4. I will know my hero, strengths and weaknesses.
5. I will know the game, how it works and how to play.

1. I will not **** with a mans stack when he's pulling
2. I will not push the ******** lane unless I have a bloody good reason to.
3. I will focus the ******** omni.
4. I will have a tp scroll on me.
5. I will look at the damned mini map once in a while.
6. I will be butthurt when I lose.
7. I will be cheap and wait as late as possible to counterpick.
8. I will not random on the last ****ing pick
9. I will actually tell people if I am going to jungle

1. I will buy a Dagon on Omniknight.
2. I will buy Shadow Blade on every hero since it will help keep me alive.
3. I will gank other lanes if I solo middle.
4. I will secure a kill if there is a chance the carry may not get it.
5. I will not get Sange & Yasha.
6. I will ping the map if I see an enemy approaching.
7. I will upgrade the couier.
8. I will buy wards if we need them.
9. I will not keep wards in my inventory for longer than one minute.
10. I will not solo Rosh at lvl 3.

1. I will buy sentry wards and dust when the enemy has any form of becoming invisible.

1. I will buy sentry wards for dewarding purposes as wards win games.

I will not buy divine rapier on my support hero

1. I will select languages that i speak fluently and not ones i just know insults for.
2. I will select servers where I speak the most commonly spoken language.
3. I will not pick pudge when someone else already called and picked another mid hero.
4. I will not pick a jungler when someone has already called it.

I will not speak with the worst microphone in history
