I know MKB does not work against FV passive... because I've seen the animation visually trigger and the attack miss. What's up with this ****?

Backtrack is a kind of healing effect, it heals the damage received.

Mechanically Backtrack is different from evasion, just like what Hades has said. You can stack Butterfly and Backtrack making physical attacks much harder to hit you.
