So I randomed him earlier and I'm not particularly familiar with the hero, I was laning against a soloing weaver on safe lane as the dire with an undying pulling creeps (and not making any effort to even fight the neutrals) so I'm usually not that bad at randoming. I can randoms and play pretty well I'd say 80% of the time but two of my team were completely flaming me towards the last half of the game, both reporting me etc with no real reason. I didn't die alot so I wasn't feeding or anything like that but the undying and a kunkka were just flaming me for not being able to kill anyone. I like to try and keep things civil and try not to get riled up about players within this game as some people just flame without thinking. My point is what tips can you provide to help me when I next play DK. I don't know if it was just my team putting a downer on me or if it was ursa on their side feeding on one of our heroes on the safe lane but I just felt like it was one of the worst games I've had for a long time now.
TL;DR: Any tips for someone who isn't familiar with DK and would like to get better with him
Well, first off DK is one of my favorite heroes, and a good weaver will ruin anyone's day.
Undying on the other hand, if he wasn't being aggressive he failed, undying is one of the strongest heroes during the early game, decay destroys everyone early on, and if he wasn't zoning out weaver he failed. No joke, decay spam means weaver would've dipped to around 400 max hp, as well as taken significant damage, and would've been forced out of the lane or to burn through his regen items rather quickly, great he has shukuchi but with a dirge nearby he really should've died or at least been pretty irritated for the majority of the laning phase while you continued to freefarm.
Dk can be run rather well in all of the lanes due to his high survivability, although I'd steer away from the long lane because he's slow as hell.
He excels at farming mid, or safe lane farming, and to an extent can jungle, he's just a bit shaky.
Generally, build phase boots, and a drum of endurance is rather beneficial unless someone else is already building it. Davion lives and dies by how fast you can farm a bkb, he's slow and very kite-able, putting up a 10 sec bkb in dragon form will help you immensely.
After bkb take advantage of his fast farming and mid game power, get ahold of a helm of the dominator for a bit more armor and sustain, use the controlled creep to stack ancients while you farm, fight, and push..emphasis on pushing. Armlet of Mordigan is outstanding on DK because he's a Str Carry, and because of his passive regen from dragons blood, mitigating some of the damage from armlet.
With phase boots, armlet, satanic, and heart you will be pretty hard to stop, factor in the early bkb and you'll increase your chance of killing heroes, without worrying about getting kited everywhere.
Avoid older guides reccomendations on avoiding your ultimate upgrade at level 11, as his second form keeps its corrosive breath. Also, Id heavily reccomend avoiding dk due to obvious hero picks such as naix or doom who are much stronger than you, and scale better into the late game, and are very hard for Dk to face down. Dk is a mid game powerhouse, that can potentially deal significant damage in the later phases if it comes to that, if you get armlet get assault cuirass after satanic due to its aura, armor bonus, and atk speed.
Also shadow blade on dk is rather good in mid level pub games for obvious reasons, but I would generally stick to a bkb rush followed by armlet or vice versa, armlet is a bit easier to build than lothars because of multiple smaller cost components and gives him a nice Str boon in fights.

Thanks for the help I appreciate it. The undying didn't help me lane at all, he didn't use decay, didn't even try and harass weaver at all just stayed near the camp and pulled the creeps without as much as even trying to get weaver once, he literally only helped me when it came to near the end of the game and we were getting raxxed and the problem with that was both me and weaver couldn't kill each other but all it took for weaver was for him to stay in the lane and farm was the time lapse as I couldn't get enough dps on him to make him back off for long enough. I'll probably repick next time not out of a hatred of the hero but just because of how much of a bad time I had laning with him maybe I'll try him again in the future. Still though thanks for the help and I'll definitely take note of all that you said.
I wouldn't give up on him so easily, there are very few heroes (DK is one of them) that can go basically 1v1 in lane against weaver (let alone a good one) without chronic feeding. Weaver is one of the most slippery heroes in the game and you can't expect to kill him (even 2v1) without 2 good disables (and you only had 1).
What I'm trying to say is, your problem wasn't DK - it was weaver, and the same thing probably would have happened no matter who you were playing as that game.

I agree here, don't give up on dragon knight, he's an awesome hero, and as very few bad matchups. He's not difficult to play just takes some getting used to in order to competently manage his mana and cd's. Next time if you're getting harassed a lot, get a couple levels of dragons blood, and you'll be suprised at how fast you regen your health.
Weaver is a pain in the *** in lane, Undying could've done better though, sentries help, plus decays from him, a stun and dragons breath, weaver will be heading home, see undying can reliably destroy pretty much any hero in the laning phase IMO, decay makes squishy heroes squishier, enhances his r-click and really shouldn't make it too difficult to zone enemy heroes out, and provide a bit more safety for you to farm..this is a lot of personal bias on my part because Dirge is my favorite, and most played/successful hero.
Don't get discouraged, maybe take Dk mid next time and just shut down the other hero while you farm your *** off. Just don't give up on Davion, he's a knight that turns into a dragon and kills **** lol, such an awesome hero.

It wasn't that you were bad with DK, you only needed to get a pack of sentries and hit the prick everytime he gets close. If he shukuchies through you, you don't run, you hit back.
