Yeah, some players seem hell bent on giving NP a bad name! I can forgive many many things in games, even stupid stupid picks that mess up the whole team set up. Just why do these idiots have to then abuse everyone else!
I remember someone telling me, go to captains mode, its a better class of randomer who plays there...... lies all lies, only difference is those randomers have got worse attitudes!
Still the good out weighs the bad, gotta keep reminding myself!

i keep reminding myself the same thing haha

This is why whenever I play a game with some awesome randoms, I always commend and send a friend invite. I very rarely solo cue anymore and usually have a 5 stack all the time.

Played an awesome game last night with a really good team line up. Meepo (me) PA, Sand king, Treeant and Batrider. Treeant let me and PA get huge then we just marched through and destroyed their whole team time after time.

Also, double heart Meepo for the win!!

Yes, I am a big fan of commending nice people. Also, as soon as someone on the other team writes anything like "this team..." or "report this player" I report them! I especially hate "this team...." because it's always the one guy who never said anything up till that point, made all the wrong choices and often has the worst stats anyway! Sorry we were to busy working together as a team to spend 45mins serving at the every whim of the silent jungle carry!
I think someone should write a psychological study into the mindset of the abusive dota bastards! I wonder if they would come out as genuine sociopaths?

They're usually just stressed out. At least in medium to high skill brackets. Not really sure what's going on "down there" though.

Luckily because I am from New Zealand there seems to be less issues with non-english speakers. You still get the odd one but for the most part they make an effort and can get along just fine.

My main problem comes when the guy that picks last or second to last spends the entire match bashing you for your picks. If you want to play a certain character voice it at the picking phase not 20 minutes into the match.

Just stressed out? I can understand that in a pro match worth money! But in random games? I thought we were doing this as stress relief, it is meant to be fun! Maybe they need a tick box for people who aren't actually there to have fun and want to be very serious and angry! I would definitely tick the fun box!

Everyone is there to have fun. However, dota isn't just something you take out and have fun with, the nature of the game requires people to get better and better and you need to do that to survive the rising skill brackets. Besides, I don't think "getting creamed by that SF who each one of your teammates except YOU fed at least 3 deaths while you try to carry your team, having a perfect score of 5-0-3 so far" doesn't translate to "fun".

Though there is no reason to scream and flame about it, it's natural you'll be negative about the matter, the past 45 minutes of supposed fun is now slow, grueling work because of someone else.

And if it's their fault, you still can't just call people genuine sociopaths, dear sir.

Granted i know the point your getting at, but when that happens the "perfect score" player has always achieved that by sitting back and not being involved enough in the game, either farming all game or just playing ridiculously passively. Now obviously there are exceptions, but that is the majority of peoples experiences from those i play with (prob around 30 odd players so ok not exactly a stellar focus group)
Yeah i can see why it may be frustrating, but it is the same thing as tipping the bored over in monopoly! People just ruin the game because its not going their way anymore, often when a turn around is still on the cards if they don't drop their heads. And if a video game ever feels like "slow, grueling work" your not doing it right!! I mean honestly these rager's would be happier in themselves as well if they just stopped and learned to lose with some grace, its gonna happen sometimes!

And also, not that I actually did call them sociopaths but, yes you can call people sociopaths, if it fits.
"A person with a personality disorder manifesting itself in extreme antisocial attitudes and behavior and a lack of conscience."
The only reason it seems like a strong term is because its not face to face and its over the internet. Well I'm sorry but being on the internet is no excuse! I am not for a minute suggesting these people are a threat to society! Just that they... well have extreme antisocial attitudes and a lack of conscience!
As an example here are some quotes I've seen in actual games

"go f**k a n****r you f****g Jew ***"
"please just kill yourself, seriously go grab a gun and put a bullet in your head"
"i hope your whole family dies in a car crash"

I am sorry but it is definitely fair to wonder whether people capable of saying that to another human being are sociopaths.

It always blows me away how antisocial some people are in such a social game. It forces you into teams of 5.
Stack up - Avoid morons.

I had a game yesterday. I was playing windrunner. We had sven, alche and jugg. One guy random AA. We all thought we would go support. Not at all. What his build was daedalus and afk farming all the time. Then, try to carry the team. Of course, we lost. He can't use any skills in teamfight bcuz he never had enough mana for combo. Really bad game.
