I agree with Mirror on the stats issue. His intelligence is so low, lower than a standard support. He won't have enough mana to use support items after casting his spells. Make the intelligence gain between 2.5 to 3 and I'm happy.
I don't know... I understand that vision is one of the most powerful weapons in the game (Hence the importance of wards) but I personally don't think he's that useful (I like the idea though)
His first skill is completely outclassed by Rocket Flare, excluding the AOE and the missile speed. Rocket Flare has damage and has utility and has a really low mana cost and cooldown. Add some damage maybe?
His second skill is very unfitting for a #4 support. vision increase is nice, but as a support it's not really your job to be hitting people. Though this is my own opinion, supports should benefit their team by having nukes, stuns, positive and negative buffs. Though that's just my opinion. At the very least though, it's not a support's job to be rightclicking. That's what carries do, and if this hero was given more things contributing to becoming a carry such as more damage coming from this skill and a transfer to AGI and other more "carry"-ish skills, it could be good.
If that's not going to happen, making it a spammable active (like Sky's first skill) with the vision increase as a passive component of that would be nice too. It makes him more like a support.
His third skill is good. It leaves a lot of detailed unanswered though. Does it disable ward vision? Does it disable the minimap? Isn't it countered by simply tp-ing back to base or just running away? I really don't know. It could be really OP or very underpowered. I'll have to see it in action.
On to his ultimate. Well, wouldn't casting it require vision in the first place? If you can take down from afar as a #4 support, shouldn't you have allies with you in the first place, which renders his ult useless especially in the lategame?
Another personal note, I've always wanted an ult that can give vision of the WHOLE map- give a spectator's POV for a certain period of time. Regardless, I really don't think his ult is good. At all.
No offense, I really hate his current skillset. As a support, your spells have to be strong individually or have some sort of strong synergy between them ( Vacuum and Wall of Replica, Midnight Pulse and Black Hole, etc)
Though supports don't carry on well to the late game generally, this guy seems too much like that- his first skill doesn't matter much unless ganking/counterganking, second skill is a low right click damage increase for a support, I won't give comments on the third skill for now and his ult isn't that useful gives his role.
As a sidenote, if Black Flare rendered all of the enemies' vision useless (including the minimap and wards) it could well be his ultimate.
Maybe adding DoT to Spotsight might be good to add harassing power, considering its manacost and cooldown. Also, Black Flare should do at least around 200 damage, again considering its manacost and cooldown. Or a manacost and cooldown reduction. Either way, he'd still become a perfect hero (for me). Very nice hero idea. Now if only there's a way to re-vote the poll...
Thanks Frogger, I had actually nerfed him quite a few times after being told that the mechanics for his skills manipulating vision was border line overpowered. Spotsight used to have a much larger aoe and lower cooldown. Black Flare has not changed that much other than that it used to only effect heroes which meant if ally creeps or a tower where nearby then the ally vision would cancel out the Black Flare. I think if Black Flare where to have damage it would be really low and perhaps while under the effect of Black Flare the effected would have a miss chance on attacks and spells. He is definitely not a nuker though he is meant to be a support, global ganker or semi carry.
