Hey guys, so I've been playing more team games and have basically been put on the off lane. I can play clockwerk and dark seer fairly well in the off lane as well as lone druid on a solo safe lane. I also understand the principles for staying alive and the goal of playing there.

I'm looking for a longer list of heroes who can play there.

Also, someone was telling me that naix is good in the off lane. I don't fully understand how. Am I being mislead on this? The only thing I can see is using rage to escape but I've got no real harrass.

I know wind runner is a good one but I'm not a huge fan of her.

Looking forward to guys opinions. Please include more then just the heroes name. eg. Dark Seer. has escape with E spell and can get farm/harass with ion shell.

Thanks guys

Well, you have been misled on the Lifestealer part. Lifestealer is only good in a duo or tri-lane, or arguably in the jungle too.

For offlane heroes you could try Weaver. He's my favorite hero. With Shukuchi, you can run away even if they have detection due to the max speed. Plus, he's an awesome carry that should not be underestimated. However, if you're facing up against a tri-lane with more than 2 disables, you're in for a rough ride. Clinkz fits in the same category as Weaver in the offlane.

Another one you could try is Beastmaster. Even though he has no real escape mechanism, he is quite tanky and you can take last hits and harass with your axes. If you're on the dire hardlane, you can even stack ancients from the safety of your tower!

Timbersaw. Have you seen what he can do in the offlane? Play passive at first, until you get 2-3 levels of reactive armor. No matter how they harass you with auto-attacks, it won't even hurt a bit, and you can just harass with your own right clicks. Refill your reactive armor stacks by clicking on an enemy hero to draw creep aggro, mostly to regenerate the health you lost from their harassment. You'll be able to secure kills on overeager enemies that don't know that they're health is low enough for you to burst down. However, if they have too many stuns and nukes (3 or more), then there is nothing you can do.

Bounty Hunter is another awesome offlane. He can hide in the shadows with his Shadow Walk and last hit well with his Jinada. However, you might have to buy sentries if you are in this position to counter enemy sentries, so that you can farm in peace.

BROODMOTHA, DA ULTIMATE SOLO-LANER. Once you spawn, quickly buy you items and head for the offlane. Plant a web on a patch of trees and hide in there, coming out only to last hit. Put webs everywhere, make tons of Spiderlings and harass with your Q once you get a soul ring, and spawn more Spiderlings and push when they leave the lane. When someone comes to farm in your lane, pop your ultimate and attack them, Incapacitating Bite will prevent them from escaping and they will die to you and your Spiderlings. The only real disadvantage for you is your **** stat gains and the fact that you are limited to your webs.

Hope this helped you, good luck in the offlane. The most important part of being the offlane: don't die.

Windrunner-Powershot can deal damage and somewhat farm and windrun is your escape

Weaver-Shukuchi for harass and escape, he can farm with auto attacks(only vs dual lane, gets zoned vs trilane)

Clockwerk-cogs if to prevent initiation and the rocket flare can be used to farm

Bounty Hunter-Invis to soak XP and you get gold from track.

Beastmaster-although he doesnt have lane presence he can stack anceints and farm with axes.

Clinkz-once again, he has a windrun spell

Slark-(vs dual lane) he has a purge and an escape although hes not that good

Mirana-leap is your escape and she has 600 range.

The list goes on!

Magnus can bottle crow to spam shock wave to farm and has a good escape. This lets him get level 6 fast to gank with

Visage I good for fighting tri lanes. It is tricky but my solo lane player can do it quite well.

Undying has decay an soul rip. another 1 vs 3 hero. More opponents the more strength you get. Tombstone can also get triple kills.

Teaent Protecter can heal, go invis and has great base damage. He also supports the team from across the map

Phantom Assassin can solo as a Cary, last hitting with her Daggers. Also has build in gank detection.

Tide has the tank to solo and the lane control with anchor smash. Same as mag, rotate once six.

Dendi did solo rubic a few times. Bottle crowed and spammed his nuke until he turned six and rotated.

My personal favorite is tinker solo and control the lane with bottle, soul ring and march.
My lone druid starting items are 12 Iron wood branches, 6 for the hero and 6 for the bear. Even if the bear does not get stats more twigs are OP on any hero.

Well, i would suggest for Bounty Hunter. It's my favourite hero so far. But u would have to account for their counters like sentries & dust.

Enigma can offlane very well, you can demonic conversion siege creeps, and can capably stack ancients and farm the lane with eidolons.
Tidehunter can perform well if you take early levels in his passive, he can be a pain in the *** for how tanky he is early on
Pheonix not in the clinent yet, test her out in dota test , very powerful offlane hero, most definitely takes a bit of skill, decent learning curve to really maximize damage without killing yourself .
Earthshaker can perform well if you know manage his mana properly.
Sand King can go invis while dealing aoe damage , manage his mana though.
Keeper of the Light Illuminate Chakra Magic
Puck is also a very capable offlane hero, illisory orb makes things easy, and he can be fairly aggressive
Warlock slow as hell, but Fatal Bonds Shadow Word can provide you some serious damage output, and healing, just don't get caught out, you won't get away.
Elder Titan dudes still a beast, ancestral spirit Natural Order ya you need the levels fast, and the aura combined with the spirit can net you some kills, as well as be able to scout a bit.
Also with Lifestealer you can lane almost anywhere, he excels at safe lane obviously as most carries, but he can capably lane anywhere, offlane 1v1 is ideal, duo takes a bit of work but don't even consider him against a trilane solo
Step 1: Pick Bristleback
Step 2: type in all chat:"GL hf"
Step 3: solo offlane
Step 4: first blood triple kill solo vs trilane
Step 5: continue head butting keyboard
Step 6: don't care, Bristleback doesn't give a ****
Step 7: screenshot repeated: BB OP comments in all chat
Step 8: alternate games with Slark pick

Don't forget about Lone Druid or Natures Prophet either, bomb offlaners, just need to have the micro skills to handle them properly.
