Doom is by far on of my favourite carries, just get a lich or dazzle in your team and you are unstoppable. He can shut down almost any other carry, and late game his devour really pays off with that huge increase in farm.

Yeah, I've seen him being used quite effectively in the Qualifiers. Even with only one target for his Ultimate, he can still regen so fast that he can tank very well.
