When to start playing with real people -- (leave coop vs. bots queues) ??

Hi all, im a newie on DOTA2. I was p`laying DOTA2 for 2 or 3 months, Im only lv 4 and I have played only coop vs. bots.

I feel I start to understand how this awesome game works, and im starting to think in the moment I leave bots to play vs. real people.

I come from LoL (about 900 games won), but this DOTA2 is much deeper than LoL. In LoL u started to play with lv 1 people, but I dont know how this exactly works on this game---

If I join a queue will I play with same lv people?? Should I wait for getting more xp with bots??

Any answer will be appreciated---

You'll play with people that have same wins and skill level as you do.

And you should try playing, sooner or later you'll still have to play against players, also, it's the best way to improve :).

Through which criteria are people paired up in pubs?
Im just asking, because when i play alone, all my games seem to be rather balanced and everyone appears to have the same skill-level as i do.... lately i have been playing with some friends (who have like a 10-15 higher level than i do) and to me it appears, as if the overall player skill in these games are much worse, than in my solo games.
--> my cs is almost 3 times higher than the second best farmer and - i dont really know how to put it - but there is far more misplay in general.

maybe its just my imagination (though i already had like 20 games with this experience) or is there some sort of hidden rating system?!

Every player has their skill level determined by some kind of secret sauce formula by playing. Everyone is put into a percentile (i.e. 1-100). When you do solo matchmaking you're ideally matched with players in the same percentile, so the skill level should be pretty much the same for every player.

Group matchmaking is more complicated - I think it does some kind of weighted percentile - i.e. the average of you and your groups percentiles.

Your placement in a percentile is not based on levels, wins etc alone.

As a new player you should be well placed from your previous experience and practice...

Yestersay night I played my first 2 games in pubs, and won both. I know is too soon to draw conclusions, and I know Im low level and play with low level partners... yesterday my biggest concern was to play without harming the team play.... and both games I was one of the best players.

In both games I found in both teams leavers, feeders, ppl who never look at the map, only focusing on their lanes, never help in Tfs, giving kills to the other team, suiciding at towers... it seems like they never played vs. bots before and go directly to pubs.

Fortunately, yesterday games did me loose my concerns about my game play. I need to learn a lot, but I think I can play pubs.

Don't worry, at higher skill level games, there won't be leavers anymore at all.

Keep playing and don't leave others ruin your gameplay, do your best! :)

That's how low priority looks like, I couldn't describe it better. :D

And about your first games, there are people who actually play pubs without even playing one game against bots nor reading a Hero's skills (and obviously knowing nothing about items): even though they might be unexperienced, keep in mind that communicating with them is always better than playing with angry level 30 supports that steal farm and experience.

If you want some suggestions, stick to supports for your first pub games (as everyone else will probably pick a carry and won't know how to keep the lane balanced): learning how to support first is way more useful than going carry for 10 consecutive matches.

I agree with your advice, Peppo.
1st game I picked Spirit Breaker, i did not bad... but with Spirit Breaker, you depend a lot on your team, u need your team to follow you when you charge and so...
2nd game I picked Lich.... better game than the former one... I bought the courier (in the 1st game nobody bought it, and I had to do it... and upgrade it also!!). After the 2nd game I realized how important is the support role. (In LoL support is important, but I think in DOTA2 is even more important).
