Well when you're an Int Carry, you generally get farm. These would work well with Necrolyte, as he relies on durability.
Now that I think about it, you're right. For Necrolyte specifically its fitting because the more survivable he is the better, and it gives him a slow for more time under Heartstopper.
I love this item on Zeus and, basically, it can work on any INT Hero that relies on autoattack damage and durability: Necrolyte, Death Prophet, Silencer and Outworld Devourer can make good use of it too.
If you are playing a support role, though, you could spend your gold on something else: do you need survivability? Get a Ghost Scepter. Do you need intelligence? Get a Force Staff. Two items that also give you a reliable escape.
After your suggestions I tried it on diffrent heroes an have to say is a great underrated item. It provides great survivabillity and the slow prevent enemy from escaping... I love it
YAY this thread again seen soo many of these on different forum well i think atos is always way to much of a build up and doesnt suit anyones speed in the game everytime i decide to get it it always delays my build like crazy or it becomes unessassary late game and is kind of just a 3.1 k hp and mana boost which in most cases can be fixed with bloodstone skadi, ags etc on my point of view it is a good item just only if you are
A) really good farmer
B) Way too fat Support
C) Your team combination needs it
D) Trolling
E) As I said if it fits the pace of your character only one i can think of is probably windrunner or ogre Magi but again force staff guys ?
of course Rod of Atos in case of disabling cant even come close to Scythe of Vyse but, it costs like 2500 gold less and can be got earlier.
and it works differently from Force Staff . for example, if you're chasing a single enemy force staff is better in most cases. but in a risky situation when there are your prey's teammmates on the other side of the river you can't just use force staff there because it may put you in a dangerous situation.
