I recently started to look at axe and im getting average with him but I was wondering if there any tips and tricks with him I should be following

item wise I usually go for Sheild + armour ring then build tranquill boots

Tranquill boots here is my first question early game they are good in my eyes for hp regen but then mid - late game im thinking should i be swapping to the ones where I can port round

items I then go for are blade mail now at this point im stuck as to do i go for life steal or do i go for evasion

then on getting kills in im struggling from time to to time my ganks right as I rune out of mana very quickly

any of you guys got advice on playing axe?

I wrote this somewhere else before, so I thought I'd share it:

*Blink -> Berserker's Call is your bread and butter combo from as soon as possible until the end of the game.

*Counter Helix has a chance to proc when an attack starts. This means it can proc even if an attack misses or is canceled before its damage point (often the case when an inexperienced enemy tries to flee from Berserker's Call).

*Berserker's Call goes through magic immunity and works on invisible enemies. Note that invisible enemies can avoid being revealed by not allowing an attack to land; however, they will cause additional helix procs.

*You can draw creep aggro by issuing an attack order against a hero (enemy or allied. This works as long as your near enemy creeps even if the hero you attack is across the map.

*To jungle, stack camps at ~51 second mark. Take easy camp until lvl 3. At level 3, take stacked camp and then go buy flasks.

*Culling Blade does magical damage. In addition, a huge physical blow is dealt (100 million damage) when the enemy's hp is low enough. In that scenario, all buffs are also purged. It will also do the physical damage to spell immune targets.

*A level of Battle Hunger is useful for disabling dagger or HoT. Note that it doesn't deal enough damage to disable non-combat consumables.

*Using Berserker's Call and then blinking away immediately can be used to save allies in a tight spot.

*You can often escape enemies with active stuns by using Berserker's call and TPing.

*If there aren't many enemy creeps near you when you call (to proc Counter Helix), it's often a good idea to walk towards your allies since the enemy will be forced to follow.

Early - Mid game:
Tranquil Boots + Vanguard + Blink Dagger

Mid - Late game

Arcane Boots/ Phase Boots + Vanguard + Blink Dagger + Blade Mail + Heart of Tarrasque + Shiva's Guard

This build is pretty good, Arcane Boots will solve your mana problems. Shiva's Guard will make it even better.

Also, you're jungling or laning?

I tend to just lane as I play with a group of friends and me and one other make a pretty decent team as we have been playing together in these type of games for around 4 years if not more

I had never even thought of shivas guard

I find both vanguard and blink dagger to be overrated.

I got a video on my guide it is definitely worth a look if you're new.

It's a good item for him, since it provides armor, mana, a slow aura and an active that really huts carries since it slows them.

I'd recommend you not to follow Numeta's builds, since they do not work for everyone, especially for beginners.

Also, what skill build do you use?

Also one thing to point out, you should try and blink into the enemy team, but only if you have allies coming. Don't think you can iv5 just cause your Axe. :)

I'd recommend you to max Battle Hunter first, then Counter Helix, since Battle Hunger deals about 627 total damage over time, and you can spam it over and over as long as you have mana.

Axe can jungle quite well with just level 1 Counter Helix as well, so you can actually skip levels 2, 3, and 4 altogether for Battle Hunger and a level of Beserker's Call if you want to gank a lot.
