Hello everyone and welcome to DOTAFire's latest guide contest! For the next 4 weeks new and old authors alike will have the chance to create guides and share their knowledge. The top 9 guides created or updated during this time will win $450 worth of Steam Wallet Codes!

We're also doing a giveaway as a thank you to authors who have kept their guides updated during 2018. More information about the guide contest, author rewards giveaway, and prizes can be found below.

$10 Steam Wallet Author Rewards

As a thank you to our authors that created and updated their guides during 2018, we will be giving out $10 Steam Wallet Codes for every 2018 guide that is updated during the contest period.

How to submit your guides:

Update your qualifying guides to the latest patch (Patch 7.19d+).
Send an email to [email protected] with the subject title "Author Rewards" and links to your updated guides.
That's it! You will receive your thank you code as soon as possible! :)

Note: You can submit multiple guides and earn multiple codes, make sure to update them all during the contest period!

What are the requirements?

The guides must have been created or updated during 2018.
The guides must fulfill the qualifications to be a "full guide" (2000 or more characters, properly filled out skill sequence, talents, and items in the purchase order). If you are unsure whether your guide qualifies, feel free to PM Hades4u for assistance!
The guides must be fully updated to the latest patch (7.19d+). If your guide contains outdated information, it won't be eligible to earn you a code. All submitted guides will be checked for the fulfillment of these requirements.

Guide Contest (9 Winners)

We'll be separating the guide contest into categories based on hero attributes. There are going to be (3) winners for each category, receiving $75, $50 and respectively $25 in Steam Wallet Codes!

Contestants will have 4 weeks to enter. Simply create or update a guide during the contest period to be automatically entered! We will go through all qualifying guides at the end of the contest period and choose the top 3 per category.

To qualify for the guide contest your guide must have at least 2000 characters (characters, not words, includes bbcode) and a properly filled out build (skill sequence, talents, and at least core items in the item purchase order). Guides and item builds must be competitive in the current meta.

Contest Categories

We'll be separating the guide contest into the 3 hero attributes: Strength, Agility and Intelligence. You can create as many guides as you like, but only one guide can win.

Strength - "Good day to fight!"

Strength heroes are known for being able to tank more damage thanks to their high health and health regeneration. The heroes of this attribute are considered by many to be the most versatile, since strength heroes can fulfill the roles of carry, ganker, jungler, support and initiator. With a few exceptions, almost all the strength heroes attack from melee range thus needing mobility items not to get kited by the enemy team.

Agility - "All enemies fall at the whim of my blade!"

Agility heroes are the strongest damage dealers, since they gain both damage and attack speed as their primary attribute increases. However, they are usually easier to kill especially in the early game, but once they've reached the late game they're going to have scary damage outputs while also being able to survive physical damage the best, since agility points also increase the armor of the heroes.

Intelligence - "Enlightenment is mine!"

Intelligence heroes excel at dealing magical damage using their diverse abilities. They are stronger in the early game since their abilities are most effective when the enemies have low health pools, but they're also much needed throughout mid to late game considering they have the most disables, enabling them to control the enemy heroes better than most.

To qualify for the guide contest your guide must fulfill the following:
- 2000 characters - not words, characters, includes bbcode
- Properly filled out skill sequence, talents, and some items in the purchase order
- Guide text is completely up to date and reflects the current game state
Any rule breaking or funny business (vote cheating) will get you disqualified, we will check
You will be contacted via the email associated with your DOTAFire account if you win
Contest and giveaway closes December 7, 2018 at 12:00 pm PST (GMT -8)
Winners of the guide contest will be announced December 14, 2018
You can have as many entries as you like, but you can only win once
Contest and giveaway is worldwide
Prizes are distributed via Steam or DOTAFire private messaging. In order for us to give you your prize you will have to provide us with your steam ID and accept our staff member's friend request
Codes will be distributed via the email associated with your DOTAFire account. Please whitelist @dotafire.com and make sure your email is up to date in Profile Settings > Edit Profile > Account Settings
Winners will have 7 days to claim their prize, after which their prize will be forfeit
