If the support buys the courier, he should theoretically get something out of it.
-The courier can now link up to a hero and it disables their basic attack capability, but they get the effects of what ever they have purchased on the courier.
-The question with this is... how far would they go with it? Only receive the armor effect? or all effects including the ability to cast the same item twice, one from the hero and one from the courier that is linked with you at the time.
Second consideration is....
Make fate's edict, ghost scepter, and or decrepify channeled abilities that drain mana and can last indefinitely possibly
The principal assumption that the support should get something out of it doesn't really make sense to me.
I mean, buying the courier is a huge advantage to the team as a whole, something that a support wants to do to begin with.
also, the support is the only one who can buy a courier and not damage his impact later on.
but IF i were to agree with you, I would say that shared cooldown is a definite parameter, we don't want double silences or double Refresher Orbs.
As an aura carrier it will be very useful as well as a potential 12 slot thingy.
and there lies my principal problem with the proposition. I do not want to see 16 slot Lone Druids who just bought a ****ing courier and then proceeded to butt rape the entire team. see also, Drow Ranger/ Medusa.
First of all, I said courier link up to heroes, not creatures and not by indirect connections such as what you are assuming with lone druid.
Same with providing auras, what you are assuming as an indirect connection that allows the hero or the courier to provide 12 slot auras to the team.
Were talking about a simple concrete concept of support classified unit/item having a intimate relationship with its purchaser who will most certainly be filling a support role because he sacrificed his attack for the role.
You don't want double casted abilities, sure I can get that.... but at least it is only limited to double cast at most and there is a way of overcoming that... kill the courier.
The courier's problem is that it has no life period, but the reality is that it could be a tactical way for safe mobile scouting...
And setting wards down for supports who really shouldn't be outside tower range in the first place.
I really think that if the courier stayed on ground it should have the capabilities talked about but as soon as it goes air it should go back to exactly how it normally is.
