Dispels

So just wanted to talk about dispels for a bit.

So there are a couple of dispels, namely cyclone, illusion, purge, spell immunity, and normal dispels.

These are then classified as strong dispels or normal dispels. Normal dispels cannot dispel stuns, most will remove most slows and silences.

Cyclones are granted by only 2 things in the game: Tornado, and Eul's Scepter of Divinity. These grant normal dispels and invulnerability for a few seconds.

Illusion dispel is granted by most illusion-creating abilities, like Mirror Image, Manta Style, Doppelganger, and Phantasm. These are also normal dispels, and grants invulnerability for a split second. They also disjoint projectiles.

Purges are dispels that come with a slow, such as Diffusal Blade, Unstable Current, Demonic Purge, Fortune's End, and the Satyr Banisher's Purge.

Other purges include Brewmaster's Wind Panda's Dispel Magic, Guardian Greaves, Lotus Orb, Doom, and Lifestealer's Infest.

These are all normal purges.

Strong dispels, on the other hand, can remove stuns as well. There are only a small handful in the game: Aphotic Shield, Borrowed Time, Press the Attack, False Promise, Dark Pact, Kraken Shell, Time Lapse, and Enrage.

Also Supernova, obviously.

Strong dispels can remove a vast majority of things except for a long list. I'll classify them.

AOE disables. Obviously, you can't dispel Black Hole and the likes. ( Spectral Dagger, Frozen Sigil, Ice Wall etc.)

Then there's disables like Berserker's Call and Reaper's Scythe that can't be dispelled.

Then there's things like Duel and Glimpse that can't be dispelled.

So if you can't BKB out of something, don't expect to be able to dispel it either.

So what would happoen if you got Aghs on Phoenix and then used it on a hero who was in Duel or Black Hole

also I just realized how broken Pit Lord will be when he comes out just like Terrorblade was. Imagine casting rift on Enigma, Tidehunter, Phoenix, Crystal Maiden. Instant team wipes.

According to the wiki, Supernova makes the hero hidden, invulnerable, and spell immune. So I'm guessing it's the spell immune part (since it remove Fire Spirits from yourself).

You should clarify some strong dispels can't be used to dispel yourself from stuns, but only allies. i.e. Enrage (Not allies or self? why is this strong dispel?), Aphotic Shield, Press the Attack, False Promise, Time Lapse and Supernova. Where Time Lapse and Supernova require an Aghanim's Scepter to provide that capability.

You can't use Enrage on allies though. The rest is fine.

Yes, I understand that, but how can you dispel a stun on yourself with Enrage? There's no spell delay.

The same way Borrowed Time does. You can use it while being stunned.
