Let's discuss Puck.

Illusory Orb and Waning Rift damage poorly scales. Waning Rift has a 16 secs CD while Illusory Orb has 12 secs and can't cast both of them fast.

he/she? is just less popular because she isnt good against the currently popular heroes, and she was wildly popular before spin to win, where she was firstpick. heroes who are that popular for a while usually drop in popularity for a while and then return.

lion, wrecks with hex, follow up stun and burst.
jug, can spin out of non-aghs dream coil, and stop phase shift + blink with spin.
troll can also stop phase+blink, and he also gets realy BKB, is also tanky so cant be bursted down easily.
sniper, she has a pretty hard time against him mid, because of low armor and HP, but shouldnt die unless she misplays. still a puck with late blink has a ****ty winrate.
skywrath, silence.
axe, long disable and can burst with culling blade.
bristle, tanky, doesnt care much about her spells apart from aghs-coil, and smacks her down if caught.
chen, completely outheals her combo.
rubick, instant disable.
disruptor, ****s her over with glimpse static storm.


also, why is everyone suddenly so mad about storm, complain properly about venge, troll and SF atleast. :P

A farming treant cant do much early game.
Puck at lvl 6 can kill pretty much everyone, while treant can ult and then what? He needs help to kill people early.

Puck has more surprising element, jump in, spam everything, shift away and blink. Puck player have to be really good in timing and stalling his enemy. Because of the high cooldown of his Q and W, if you ****ed up with a button then you are pretty much screwed. Dream Coil with agh is actually very effective late game because no one wants to stand still during the teamfight (unless you are a Spectre with 6 hearts).

And also, Puck is an it, neither he nor she.

Still seems meh in terms of scaling tbh compared to strongest mids like Lina and Storm Spirit. Besides, late game is not all about disable, it's also about damage. Puck can screw up enemy's positioning regardless of if you break the coil or not, and... that's all. ou got 1 damage-dealing hero vs enemy's 2(generally speaking, but you got the idea).

I'm a biased on this, sorry, but I love Puck.

I don't know how you would compare Treant Protector to it, but here are some differences.

Puck is more versatile.
Puck has a better laning presence (Can push wave fast to get runes)
Puck can solo lanes.
Puck is (a bit) harder to kill.
Puck has more burst damage
Puck has more crowd control.
Puck is more mobile.

BUT

Treant is tankier
Treant can heal towers globaly (really annoying)
Treant Agh's is broken
Treant is better without levels.
Treant has the higheset base damage in the game.

Honestly, I think Puck's better at what he does, and Treant's better at what he does.

Also, versus other mids (Assuming laning stage)

Puck has a slightly better time in mid than Lina, avoiding Slaves with Shift and harrasing with Prb.
Puck has a silence.

Also, it is possible to Shift Laguna Blade.

And yes, SS is a counter to Puck. Even more so when he buys Orchid. Yuck.

Puck in my opinion is one of the only True Skill heroes.

Skywrath Mage? buy Euls

Storm Spirit? buy Euls

Right clickers getting you down? Aghs

spammable skills hurting your laning? put more points into phase

squshy caster heroes in your lane? skill silence more

He is so versatile.

yes you are right .... early game. farm your euls then proceed to rek face.

storm is incredibly squishy if he rushes Orchid... use that.

Puck is only as good a the player.

Blink Dagger + Scythe of Vyse

While in theory this is true, in practice there are lots of heroes that wreck Puck. Sky is really bad, because you want to fight before you get a eul's. And Disruptor is really a pain to play against, also doom, hexes, burst damage...
