Zeus Pub Games

Introduction

First of all you will ask why a tanky Zeus.

Well, that's not hard to understand at all.
Very important to mention, this is a guide that find its use in Public games. A 5 man team will keep their Zeus in the second row always, taking advantage of his nuke from a safe zone (or atleast they will try).

In pubs however it is very hard to say who you can count on.
More than that, Zeus is a mid hero, and if not at level 5 then at level 7 he is surely ment to go gank. Zeus is extremely good in the early game as long you will handle wise mana and runes.

Pros / Cons

PROS

-Powerful Nukes
-Easy to play
-Great Ganker
-Spell Caster that scale in late game
-Counters Invisible Heroes
-Good surviving ability
-Close to no mana issues once you get Bloodstone

CONS

-Bad Attack Animation
-Relies a lot on spells (almost useless when silenced)
-Great HP*

* Great HP will sometime make you think you can tank. You can, but that should happen only when trying finish off an enemy, you should never jump in first in the middle of 5 enemies, your role is to cast not to tank. HP and blademail will ensure that you stay much longer in fights even if you get targeted.

Items

First major item that should be build after Arcane Boots is Bloodstone. It will already give you very good HP and MP, and if you don't fail also very good regeneration. Next on list is Skadi who comes to complete you mana and health pools. Sell bottle smartly when trying to get one of the Ultimate Orbs to minimize the risk of beeing killed and lose gold.

Build this 2 items might take some time since mid game for Zeus will be in most cases the hardest time while trying build 2 very expensive items.

Once you get Bloostone and Skadi, building Blademail will be much easier task, and late game will scale very nice. Once because now you have 3k HP, very decent armor, and very good nukes since your passive will hurt as hell.

An extremely high number of nukers and carries will still target you first in a teamfight, disregarding the fact that you will be maybe top HP in your team, maybe due to beeing used to see Zeus as a free kill or trying stop his aoe burst dmg.

To sum things up, this usually happens in a positive way in pub games:

- Bloodstone with 8+ charges denies perfectly many agressive ultimates from Doom or Bloodseeker. A Doom spending his ulti on an enemy with Bloodstone will only waste it since will do 0 dmg, will only count as a silence. Since Zeus is not a disabler depending on the fights it will only delay the burst dmg.

- Certain heroes will suicide A LOT on you. Perfect examples are Lina (feeded Lina), Sniper, and in fact any high speed attack rate carry with no illusions. Sniper will be best shot since you can activate blademail when he tries to ulti.

Extension items like Shiva's Guard will let your team take benefit of the slow escaping or finishing off enemy heroes.

Crimson Guard I'd take only when fighting heroes with illusions, but for Zeus is really hard to counter them. Was thinking on Ghost Scepter, but with 0 investment in intelect and only 4 seconds of safety from carries is close to no use.

Creeping / Jungling

Once you get bloodstone creeping and jungling is extremely easy for Zeus since you can spam at least Arc Lightning with no mana starvation ever. In lane you can assure most of the last hits same way.
