I think that I should explain my comment. The way that I worded it was weird, and then I didn't really explain my thinking very well. Here we go.

Everybody has their own opinion on Ember builds, and most of them are right. The most common way, chasing people down with max Flame Guard and Phase Boots works, as well as my way, which involves being able to stay in fights for longer, because you have more mana to work with, and short cooldowns. Playing Ember Spirit] got a lot easier for me once I started thinking of him as a burst hero that functions off of mana, like [[Storm Spirit]] or Skywrath Mage(Skywrath's Ultimate costs 800 mana). Or, Earth Spirit. I actually play all of those heroes regularly.

These are, sort of, the reasons and explanations for my skill and Item build:
1. I hate Drum of Endurance too.
The reason why people get it is that you simply don't have a big enough manapool to be able to keep in long engagements. Drums gives you 119 mana, which is basically another Searing Chains. Actually, that is really good.

On the other hand, Arcane Boots gives 250 maximum mana, and has an active that gives you another effective 100 mana(because it restores 135 mana at a cost of 35 mana), and gives 1.82 mana per second. To Drum of Endurance's 119, it gives an effective 350 max mana, which is almost a Flame Guard, Activate Fire Remnant, and a Searing Chains.

I mentioned Soul Ring because it is another alternative to Drum of Endurance, but it lowers your already-tiny HP pool even more.

2. I want maximum burst early on, and then a transition to Sleight of Fist. (Skill + Item Builds in Chronological Order)

Since whoever came up with this Arcane Boots, it isn't really possible to chase people down with Flame Guard, because of a lack of Phase Boots. Therefore, there isn't much point in maxing it out early. However, you still want to be able to push the lane, and the 2nd level of Flame Guard absorbs 4x as much damage as level one. And so, I get it at level one and 3, and get Searing Chains at level 2 and 4, as expected. It is important to note that at level 2 it is a 2 second disable, which is what many disables are at level 4. I get Sleight of Fist at level 5 for the extra 950 range on Searing Chains. I just value that as a chase tool more than the double damage on Searing Chains from level 2-3. After that, I find that not maxing Flame Guard first makes you a bit squishy, and so I max that next.

Since, with Arcane Boots, you don't have to buy Drum of Endurance, you can get a Battle Fury faster. A Blink Dagger is good too, because Blink Dagger ---> Searing Chains is really powerful.

Anyway, this timing on the Battle Fury means that you get it around the time you are level 13, if you have been farming well. At level 14, you can have max Sleight of Fist to go along with it. Here is where the transition into a Sleight of Fist build comes. After my first Battle Fury, I just keep stacking them unless I need a Black King Bar.

Then, after 2 Battlefuries, I get either a Desolator or a Eye of Skadi, depending on how good the Eye of Skadi is against their lineup. If they have carries without a lot of attack speed, or lots of carries, then get Skadi. If they don't, or you just need more damage, go for the Desolator.

Finally, as your last Item, if you don't need a Boots of Travel, spring for a Daedalus. The game probably won't go on the long, but we don't care about that.

If you haven't already, pick up the Boots of Travel for 6 slots.

I did not intend to spend as much time on this as I did. Hope you found interesting, though.

Thanks for the explanation.
I certainly agree that Drum of Endurance is not optimal and I never get it. I like to get Power Treads as my choice of boots however I sometimes get Boots of Travel early because the global pressure and that fact that you can have free fountain trips is just way too good in some games. I only get Boots of Travel if my team really needs the help in other lanes. Normally if I don't go Boots of Travel I get Blink Dagger so as to still put very good pressure on the enemy in the early-mid game.

Because I usually go Boots of Travel or Blink Dagger first I don't skill Sleight of Fist until later most games as I have a later Battle Fury. However sometimes the game calls for an early point into Sleight of Fist so I will skill it if I need to.

I can see where you are coming from with Arcane Boots but I simply do not like them on the hero. I prefer the stats on Power Treads and simply having to manage my mana a bit more conservatively. Obviously your build works for you so I will certainly talk about what you are saying in my guide as well as the other builds that I prefer.

Anyway, thanks for all the feedback, on a hero like Ember Spirit there are so many different ways to play the hero that it is really good to talk to other people about what works for them.

Anyway, I play Ember Spirit Quite a bit, and I usually go straight for 2 Battle Fury, unless I need to buy a Black King Bar. Also, usually, I go with Phase Boots or Arcane Boots because of Ember's small mana pool. If I ned to be an active mid, I get Arcane Boots.

Also, this is another correct skill build:
1 Flame Guard
2 Searing Chains
3 Flame Guard
4 Searing Chains
5 Sleight of Fist
6 Fire Remnant
7 Searing Chains
8 Flame Guard
9 Flame Guard
10STATS
11 Fire Remnant
12 Sleight of Fist
13 Sleight of Fist
14 Sleight of Fist
15 Searing Chains
16 Fire Remnant

Through large amounts of testing, I have found that you still usually want to rush Battle Fury. It scales the best into the late game, and the damage just gets better the later the game goes. The sustain is also needed, and just getting a Battle Fury keeps you from having to buy a Soul Ring.

Thanks for the feedback, I personally prefer Power Treads to Arcane Boots as they give some stats to buff yourself up as I dont like Drum of Endurance too much. If I am required to be active I personally like to go Power Treads Blink Dagger and then Battle Fury.

Yeah, I should add some alternative skill builds but I personally dont like taking levels past 1 in Fire Remnant and I dont understand the stats at level 10 there? Why take that last level in Searing Chains last, I mean that extra 1 second disable is great. I personally prefer getting it early and levelling Sleight of Fist last.

I know what you are saying about Battle Fury first but in my low level pubs at least I find that Blink Dagger helps me snowball really hard. I will talk about that in the guide though and explain how against better players you probably want Battle Fury first.

Why ever get Soul Ring even if I go safelane I almost always get Bottle

While it true that you have published the guide very eraly, even if you wanted a feedback, from the part that is available it seems very promising. Generally I strongly dislike "standard" guides that you can't even distinguish from others, they don't give any really useful info on the hero, but that one there doesn't seem like "standard" guide, so far it at least describes Ember Spirit's ACTUAL pros/cons/pick/do not pick and not generalised ******** most(even top rated) guides contain.

I think you should you add something aside reasoned skillbuild and itembuild, gameplay chapter and some pictures would be great. WIth that this guide can easily become the top one, because it will be relevant, reasoned and thotough. Good luck.

Thanks a heap dude, I will try and get some pictures and stuff to add into it. I'm hoping that I dont get too much hate from my personal item preferences that arent "standard".
Anyway hopefully I will be able to finish the guide soonish

Don't take me wrong, but We'd rather see a full guide when published, it doesn't look pretty serious.
