Alchemist is a hero that farm extremely fast, when played on a skilled mid laner can get a radiance in about 10 min and can have an extreme early/mid game impact. if played correctly with a decent team composition his snow ball can be almost impossible to stop . attack speed is very good on this hero early with his ult giving extra attack speed and regen. common hard carry builds include: maelstrom, radiance, moons shard, mkb,s&y, abyssal blade.
but my personal favorite build is a carry/pusher build which includes: radiance, manta, oct core, bots of travel, maelstrom, even necro book if your feeling really edgy.
notes: make sure you have supports on your team for ganks and stacking
ward runes so you can spot out bounty runes early(have large large impact.
I personally like the semi-bottle rush, but make sure you can secure the first run which will put you at about 450+ gold. a few last hits will get you your bottle, if possible ask supports to stack camps early when level 6 comes around that extra gold will propel your radiance time. depending on Midas can be a good pickup because you can usually farm it pretty quick. also depending on MMR if you can get a 11-12 min radiance, you can probably go right for BOT, or also phase boots and a yasha to start your manta.
by 25 min you should have around 2-3 core items for example radiance, manta, oct core depending you might have more or less, but from here the items you decide to buy are totally dependent situation, late game your going to want to eat a moon shard and pick up aghs for your team.
Once alch gets one of his core items and hits level 10 preferably so his has his stun. with radiance his impact can be felt greatly, if you have a stun in either lanes this will make ganking easy. If you want to end early after radiance is picked up and your boots of choice, i would go for a blink which will make ganking very easy.
