Treant Protector Guide Tank/Support/Initiator

Introduction

Rooftrellen the Treant Protector is a melee strength Hero who excels in supporting and strengthening the lane by providing his allies greater survivability via continuously replenishing their health and proving various buffs.

He also provides a pseudo-Smoke of Deceit by allowing his allies or himself to become invisible at a limited amount of time if they hug close to a tree. His scariest feature however is his ultimate, providing one of the longest area disables in the game.
Treant Protector requires various amount of skills to be useful. He has to identify how and when to hit his abilities as his use is only dependent to them.

Items

Early Game
Early game is very important as you need to get your farm up as soon as possible. If against 2 range I would use shield and 2x Tango to prevent harass. If the lane is normal but you struggle with last hit get a potion + quelling blade. The headdress item is really up to you. I would only buy this item if your lane partner (carry) is getting focused a lot.

Mid Game
If you have a solid team and your farm is going well First thing you need is Arcane boots. Then go for Vanguard to be more tanky. Add a blink for initiation (using your ulti) and get a BKB if your opponents have many stuns.
If you decide however to roam/gank late early game until early mid game then you should choose Urn as the mana regeneration is welcome and suits treants ganker style. Vladimirs Offering is a pure support item on Treant. It boosts your damage, armour, mana regen and gives lifesteal you need when you gank.
If the situation is out of control and everything is so confusing around you. Forget the arcane boots and go for treads to increase your attack speed and health. Add a bracer to get extra armour, and use Urn/Mekansm on your fellow team mates.

Late Game
Things are going awesome on your side Heart + Radiance is the ultimate OVERPOWERED UNSTOPPABLE TREANT!! Change your arcane boots to travel to TP between lanes and push.
If the late game is just doing OK and your opponents are resisting get pipe late mid game and get Assault Cuirass over Heart as the negative/positive armour aura will help your carries to jump in and take advantage on your enemies (negative aura) assuming you are initiating + ulti.

Skills

Build 1- Ganker Build
The first build benefits your ganking capabilities from an early stage. Taking armour early benefits your team over the other team (regen +armour). Leech is also maxed out to make the most out of it with potent damage and healing.

Build 2- Support
The second build is entirely support. Early Nature's Guise benefits yourself or your team mate in case someone needs to evacuate quickly.

Pros / Cons

Pros

- No specific counters
- Awesome ulti and initiator
- If farmed VERY tanky and hard to take down
- Can turn a game around

Cons

- Countered by good team coordination
- Lack of attack speed
- The other team will focus you as you are perceived as dangerous - so be prepared to die a lot
- Very item/farm dependent
