The Path of the Weave

Introduction

Hello, and welcome to the wonderful world of Skitskurr the Weaver.
This guide is to help new players get acquainted with some of weavers features.
During this guide we will laugh, cry and perhaps even learn something.

But that is just what is awaiting within this guide. After this, you might even find yourself crushing your opponents spine with bugs or enjoying a cool breeze as you tear your enemies soul from the weave.

With this build you may learn what items to expect when playing as weaver, what abilities he use and how they influence the game and we will even go into how you might play as weaver.

But a caution is to this tale. You may not get the desired result from this guide. Most players have a unique way of playing that suits them, and that may not apply to others. So enjoy weaver, create your own unique play style and only use this as a guide and not a rule book.

So. Now that is settled. Lets get to learning and the first chapter we unfold is: Items.

Items

Before we begin, we need to figure out what type of items are more suitable for weaver than others. So here is my list of desired item types:
Damaging items
Agility items
Health items
Mana items

PS: Build 2 is tested and should work better.

In the beginning we may want to start with agility. Increasing agility increases weavers survivability and damage. So slippers of agility is a cheap choice as a starting item.
As with most or even all heroes, tango should be bought. Getting Tango is a great way to regenerate some lost health and are quite cheap.
With clarity you will be able to use Shukuchi more often. But be warned. always leave a little mana in case you need to hunt.
And finally ring of protection so you can easily get sages mask from side shop.

Early game:
Ring of Basilus
Power threads
Magic Wand
Perseverance

The first thing to start with is Ring of Basilius. Gives mana regen which is needed for Shukuchi. The more mana the more you can harass and hunt.
Hand of Midas, this is not really necessary however it is a very good way to earn that little extra.
Magic wand and Power threads. Easly a good buy, gives some attributes early in the game.
Now, your main item is Perseverance. You don't need to get boots of speed before perseverance, observe how much hunting and/or fleeing are needed before deciding of whether or not to get boots of speed before perseverance.
Core:
Linken's Sphere
Deadalus
Crystalys

Linken's Sphere is there to make sure weaver is harder to kill. With Linken's Sphere disabling most abilites that targets weaver, will make weaver a tough bug to kill.
Before you get Deadalus you will notice weaver is rather weak and low damage. This doesn't matter when Deadalus removes most of the enemies armor.

The next chapter will explain abilities and how you can use them.

Abilties

Shuttle and loom, I weave your doom.

During this we will go deeper into all of the abilities weaver have to his disposal and we can start with:

The Swarm:
"Weaver launches a swarm of 12 beetles that latch on any enemy unit in their path, attacking and reducing armor until it is killed."

The swarm does low damage. Reducing armor by 1. And for the most part quite weak compared to weavers other abilities. The Swarm is good to use on crowds of enemies because of its armor reduction, it is also a very good creep stopper.
Shukuchi:
"Weaver shifts out of visibility, gaining the ability to move at maximum speed through physical unitsdoing harm to any enemies it passes through."

Ah Shukuchi, Weavers mana drainer and may be the most useful of his abilities.
Making weaver invisible and lightning fast for a short duration.

Early game: Use Shukushi only to damage or hunt. Always save some mana to hunt down a fleeing enemy. Just remember. Towers WILL see you and you will most likely die if running past 1 or 2 of them.

Late game: You can probably use Shukushi all the time. To get to places and to do harm. Most of the times you will spam W or any other button you have assigned to it.
Geminate Attack:
"Allows Weaver to dispatch two swarms, attacking an enemy twice."

You will get so many kills with this it is ridiculous. It is a passive ability that triggers when attacking. However it has a cool down so it will not trigger all the time.
Use it for the most part to farm and deny. This ability gives you an edge when it comes to last hitting.
Time Laps:
"Weaver warps backward to whatever position it was in five seconds earlier regaining the HP and mana from that time. No effect on cooldown, gold or experience."

The loom weaves! When weaver is feeling down, he just goes 5 seconds back to cheer himself up. It is like a legal cheat. Just going back 5 seconds and restore lost health and or mana.

How to use: When low on health. When debuffed. When you have run some time and then finding yourself in a middle of a cluster of enemies.

This ends the ability chapter. Next we will go further into detail with how you can play as weaver.

How to play

Start with going to a lane that is not the middle one.
As weaver is rather squishy, being on mid may get you killed.

As weaver is a carry and not support you don't really need to buy courier or wards. But if the others on your team don't, tell them to do it or do it yourself.

Now to start. If on top lane for radiant or bottom for dire you can try to hinder your allied creeps so the other teams creep can advance a bit further. By doing this you are getting the other teams heroes closer to your tower and it may help getting easy kills early in game.

Now you must farm as much as possible. This guide will not tell you what heroes you should team up with. However damage buff heroes really helps like Magnus or Vengeful spirit. Also stun heroes or even slow heroes may be useful to you.

Use Shukushi to damage the other team as much as possible while still keeping some mana left for you to go hunting.
At this early stage The swarm cost to much and is not advisable to use unless you find yourself in a situation where it can be useful.

DO NOT JUNGLE BEFORE DEMON EDGE. You will probable lose too much health and mana. Weaver isn't a jungler. However he can when he has his core items.

Weaver is annoying. Most will target and kill weaver before the rest of the team because 1. He can do a lot of damage. 2. He is squishy. Keep your distance when engaging. But don't overdo it.

Also it should be pointed out that stun and silence heroes may be a problem to encounter.

Pros / Cons

PROS
High attack speed
High movement speed
Good harasser
High survivability

CONS
Low health
Low mana
Somewhat difficult

Summary

So that is my weaver build.
I hope you have enjoyed it and I hope it will give you countless times of maiming in the future.
I know I said we would cry and laugh together, but that was just a ruse to keep you reading. It was mainly about the learning and I hope you found it useful.

Thank you for reading this guide and good luck in game.
