Shadow Fiend, the conductor of souls.

Shadow fiend is a ranged carry who's best lane is mid. He is very powerful at all stages of the game because he can farm effectivity, transitioning from a heavy nuker in the early/mid game to a powerful ADC late game.
However he had one extreme weakness; his own mobility. It makes him susceptible to hacks very easily, especially against heroes with a slow like QoP and a roaming dazzle. Though your biggest weakness is a roaming bounty hunter, as he has a good slow and can easily burst you down. If the enemy team has a bounty hunter, buy sentries as soon as possible,
no exemptions!

So many items, so little time.

Well sf is on an interesting spot for early game items. He has one of the lowest base damages in the game, mixed with a poor health pool. You need to get both damage and survival items. Now, what magical item could give you that? Faerie fire! It helps keep yourself alive and well in your time of need, and gives you just a glimmer of damage, it's perfect! However, you should also ask your teammates for some tangos, be kind about it! This doesn't have to be a 1v9. If you manage to get Adobe of your team's tangos then start to build a basilius, or gives you a small amount of armor and damage, mixed with some mana regeneration to kill that pesky bounty hunter.
If you recognize the enemy team has a lot of burst potential, then it would be wise to go drums instead of Aquila, don't make it a second thought.
Rain drops help you gank and spank with it getting your **** kicked in, but it is a tad bit pricey. So think of you really need it, it can make you or break you (though in most games you'll need it). Bottle is bottle, you need that ****.
Now, mid game is a bit different. You build euls scepter and blink dagger, the one shot build. It gives you mana to farm with, movement speed, and mobility/initiative with blink dagger. And since it's only about 5k gold that helps you farm, have utility, and survivability, it's totally worth it. After you have blink and euls, you're going to want aghanims scepter; it gives you great stats to help you survive, and even damage with your passive. With an aghs, you can one shot almost anyone with your ult, and of they're not dead, they will be soon. After aghs you're going to have to adapt to the game. Does your team need a reliable disable? Armor? Stronger pushing ability?
